Berkley XL is my standard mono line for casting in freshwater and it never let's me down. It's very versatile, durable and flexible making casting easy and accurate. And the price point is very affordable.

Fishing line is often way overthought with all the different types, sizes, colors, etc. This is a very simple, basic and easy to reel line for catching average sized Trout and some largemouth bass. No breaks yet from fish, only when snagged on some heavy weeds I failed to miss casting over.

The Fishing Line work’s good for us and has good strength and I like the Lo-vis green color, it’s also a pretty good price.

Berkley Trilene® XL®, Clear, 6lb Monofilament Fishing Line, is a perfect choice for any ultra-light reel. Go after your favorite panfish without spending a ton of money on braided line. It is strong, and casts easily. It has been my choice for over 40 years. I've tried other brands and styles both $ and $$ but I keep coming back to Trilene XL. It may be 'old school' but how many others have been around long enough to become 'old school'?

Trilene XL has been around a long time, and for good reason. It is still a versatile do it all line. Especially on spinning reels. It's supple and tough-enough. When mono is needed, you can't really go wrong with it.

I put this 6 lb test line on my ultra light fishing pole. It worked great until I hooked into a turtle. I didn’t want to lose my lure so I jumped out of the boat into what I thought was waste deep water. The mud on the bottom made it over my head. I panicked just a little and grabbed the turtle (it was a snapper) he bit down on my thumb and the hook on my new Mepps spinner stuck in my hand. I ended up going to the emergency room for the turtle bite (6 stitches) and had to get 4 stitches from yanking the hook out of my hand while splashing around. The line never broke the turtle swam away and my wife says I can’t go fishing next weekend.
