A thing to note: When using it be careful not to try and seal your bag too far down because it cuts off any extra paper.

It's a great little tool to help seal bags without looking for a closure tool (pin, rubber band, etc), another container to store in, or learning a clever baggie fold. :-)

There is a slight learning curve for the speed in moving the device while trying to seal, for the thickness of the bag you're sealing. I've resealed chip bags (plastic and metallic looking), plastic frozen veg bags, and plastic pantry item bags (popcorn). You need to make sure the area you're sealing is fairly dry and not too full of crumbs. The thicker the bag, the slower you need to go. BUT if you go too slow, you might end up burning through the bag instead of sealing it. (I did a few times). Once you get this down, it's a cute, handy little device to have around.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the magnet is not strong enough. It held fine the first 2-3 tims I put it on my fridge side (not the door as that moves too much), but started sliding down after that. I still keep it on my fridge, but above a magnetic pen/post-it holder so it stays within reach.

I was super excited for this and to not have to toss stale crackers and chips all the time. But it is not easy to work - it's hard to know how much pressure to apply and it doesn't seal continuously. I've only used it a few times and now it doesn't work at all. Also, the cutter is hard to use and when pushed out it you have to hold the sealer at a weird angle to cut. Also, the blade is really short, so it would be easy to miss if someone left it in the cutting position. Too me, the cutter is a waste and dangerous if it gets pushed out by accident. Overall, wasn't a good use of my hard earned money- even if it was only $13.

We had a very important package to send and wanted to get it sealed so there would be no worries about water getting inside in case of rain and/or mishandling by the shipping company. We decided to buy this product and you get what you pay for.
The item comes with a magnet for the fridge, but it is not a strong one. It slides down all the time. There is a small cutter in it, which it was a plus. The sealing part is easy to use and it does its job, but it is also very easy to cut a hole in the process.
Overall we are happy with it because it does the job if you are careful while using it and there is not much we need it for. But for those looking for serious usage out of a sealer, I would not recommend this.

Awesome way to save money on groceries!!!

This is an awesome product that not only allows you to save on groceries, but its also wonderful for organization!!
I use mine to keep my food fresh by sealing it and eliminating the air in the packaging.! Eliminating the air helps stop the growth of bacteria and mold. I also noticed when the bag is sealed prior to being frozen, it helps eliminate freezer burn.
These sealers can also be used to organize craft items, sewing items, toys, hair ties, gift bags, tools, crayons, pens, markers, and SEVERAL other odds and ends (helped eradicate my junk drawer). You can even seal items like blankets & clothing, saving you from a dry cleaner expense. My sister borrowed mine to seal her wedding dress and my nieces handmade baby blanket.
I have seen and used other types of sealers in the past. I prefer this type of sealer because it is much easier to use. Its hand held, allowing you to navigate around the item. With the large sealers, you are forced to seal in a straight line and are unable to corner or maneuver around the item. A lot of these other sealers have to remain on a flat surface and can jam up. They are heavy, take up a lot of counter space, and require you to purchase a specific type of plastic (can be very costly). With this item you can use the original packaging or pick from several other cost effective plastics. I like this because I am able to buy decorative or colored plastics to use on my gift baskets!!!!
I am very happy with my purchase and find myself looking for an excuse to use it lol!!!! I am also pleased with the price and will be ordering several more for our annual Christmas party!!

Melts the plastic that you are trying to seal to maintain freshness. Not worth the effort. A large binder clip works better and is much easier to use!

I love this little mini bag sealer! It is so easy to use and it actually seals bags perfectly! It is the size of a small stapler so storage is not a problem. We have sealed potato chip bags, coffee bags and, just this morning we sealed a bag of pecans. My husband was so confident that the pecan bag was sealed that he turned the bag upside down to show me it was sealed tight! Highly recommend this for your kitchen.
