I've been wearing the Hanes Men's EcoSmart sweatshirt for a couple of months now, and I have a mixed bag of experiences to share.

Pros:

Comfort and Fit: The sweatshirt is quite comfortable to wear. It has a nice, relaxed fit that doesn't feel too tight or too loose. It's perfect for lounging around the house or running errands.

Eco-Friendly: I appreciate that it's made with up to 5% recycled plastic bottles. It's a small step toward sustainability, which is a win in my book.

Warmth: It's reasonably warm for a lightweight sweatshirt. Great for those slightly chilly days when you don't need a heavy coat but still want an extra layer.

Cons:

Durability: After a few washes, I noticed some pilling on the fabric. It's not a deal-breaker, but it does make the sweatshirt look a bit worn out sooner than I expected.

Sizing: The sizing can be a bit inconsistent. I ordered a medium, which fits perfectly, but a friend ordered the same size, and it was slightly larger on him. So, you might want to double-check the size chart before purchasing.

Color Fading: The color fades slightly after a few washes. It still looks okay, but it's not as vibrant as it was when it first arrived.

I bought this sweater as an easy gift for my boyfriend. I was surprised to see how nice it was despite the cheap price tag! It fits true to size and was super soft. Would definitely be a good layering too while it’s cold out. I’m sure it will last him at least a couple of years as it seems durable. Very pleased with my purchase.

My husband, my children, and I have all had many Hanes sweatshirts. Picking a color can be hard — sometimes they arrive looking too unlike the photo. Otherwise, they’re perfect in terms of thickness, comfort, price, and longevity. I’m 5’0” and feel they’re comfortably roomy without being frumpy. I have many sizes but like medium.

I recently picked up a Hanes sweatshirt, and while it’s an okay option, it didn’t quite live up to my expectations compared to the Fruit of the Loom sweatshirts I’ve owned in the past.

The fit is decent, and it’s comfortable enough for lounging around the house or running errands. However, I found that the fabric feels a bit thinner and less substantial than what I'm used to with Fruit of the Loom. While it keeps me warm, it lacks that cozy, heavyweight feel that I really enjoy in a sweatshirt.

One thing I appreciated about the Hanes sweatshirt is the variety of colors and styles available, so there’s something for everyone. Still, in terms of overall quality and comfort, I would choose Fruit of the Loom any day. If you're looking for a basic sweatshirt that will get the job done, this Hanes option is fine, but for those who prioritize warmth and durability, I recommend going with Fruit of the Loom instead.

This is hands down the best sweatshirt you can get for the price. I’ve bought 4 of them. They are comfortable, fit perfectly (I’m 143lb, I get a large), and you cannot beat the price. The quality is also very good. I want more of them. Honestly cannot say enough good things.

I’m writing a few years later after owning this sweatshirt and loving it. It’s surprisingly stylish, super comfortable, and entirely classic to wear. It’s the perfect weight and a longer fit so not too boxy. I’d read about it in an article and entirely agree it’s a fantastic find. No pilling after years of wear.

When it first arrived I thought the fabric felt pretty rough. Once I washed it, it felt really soft and warm. Very reasonable price and the fit is perfect. Great value!

I needed something for walking and biking in the cold(er) weather (Texas really doesn't get "cold" for you northerners). What I really wanted was a form-fitting, heavy-duty thermal shirt. The one I already own was no longer for sale on Amazon. I looked at a hundred different listings, and couldn't find anything comparable. As a backup plan, I got two of these Hanes EcoSmart Fleece Pullover Sweatshirts.

The quality is about what you would expect at this price point: basically disposable. The cheap fleece material sheds a ton of lint. The fit is sort of short and weird with a really tight head hole. They are light, not particularly warm, and seem like they won't last very long. This isn't some thick old-school Champion sweatshirt that will last you a lifetime. Quite the opposite.

If I had paid more than $12 for them they would already be at the Whole Foods return counter.
