    I have owned a few small air compressors and this os likely the best yet. In fact, it's so good that I might sell my "big" shop compressor and replace it with the Metabo. It sure is quiet...one of my requirements. Easy to carry...not too heavy. Nice design.

    At 140-160$ this compressor is a fantastic deal from an established brand for airbrushing models/small scale painting.
    It's quiet, ridiculously quiet. Roughly only 30dBa over ambient and 20+ quieter over a standard pancake compressor. This is a trade with airflow however, so I wouldn't buy this if you need high CFM to run any heavy duty tools. But for painting this is far better than every other compressor marketed at airbrushing at the price point. Most others have even smaller motors, are louder or have pathetic tanks.
    I plan on adding a spare tank someday when I need it.

    There are some caveats;
    You won't get far trying to run high pressure tools, painting only needs 15-30PSI and this is perfect for that. But anything more and you will run out of air and burn up the motor faster.
    Which brings me to the next point, this motor gets hot when run frequently. Really hot! The motor kicks back in around 90 pounds and the tank only holds 125. So you either need to put a fan directly on it and this makes it a non issue. Or turn the motor off and only turn it on manually after you exhaust the tank.

    There are some bad QC issues, the compressor does not ship in a box with any padding. Only enclosed in a bag. My first compressor arrived with a broken manifold. Both gagues would not function. The regulated pressure was stuck at 50 minimum and the tank gauge would stop at 60 pounds. So I attempted to contact Hitachi and still have not received a response after 3 weeks. I returned it to Amazon 2 weeks ago for another unit.

    I hope Amazon doesn't just relist that unit. I put a sticky note in the box that stated the problem as well as a little padding. If you get it , exchange it!

    I hated carrying my twin-tank around for a couple nails, especially at a job site, so tried this. It truly is as quiet as everyone says, so much less than a pancake. It has air for just a couple framing nails or palm, but plenty for finishing.

    My first review (see updated below): It is so quiet that it is actually shocking the first time I turned it on lol. It looks and operates like any of my other compressors I've used, but then it's just a mild hum when it is on. I could use this anywhere. It does not have a large capacity of course, but it is great for small tires or topping off car tires, running staplers/ nailers, etc. I am in love with this little thing so far. It is definitely more practical than my 33 gallon craftsman.

    Updated: so far, I’ve used it to fill up two I bet tubes, and shot maybe 100 nails through air nailer. Now, it makes weird sounds and doesn’t make any air pressure. I’ve been able to use it maybe 3-4 times so far and it’s already dead.
    I reached out to the manufacturer through the links provided on the product page here on Amazon and the link to their customer support website is a broken link, their phone number leads to a phone tree that no one answers, and no one has responded to the contact form that I submitted on their webpage. After doing some research on the Internet, I did find a different toll-free number to call and they simply referred me to an authorized Warranty center, which is 45 miles for me and I have to take it to them. I called them and they said they don’t look at warranty repairs for at least three weeks , definitely will not recommend this company nor products to anyone ever again. A tool that breaks down is no big deal as that happens due to variations and quality control from time to time; however, poor customer support is inexcusable. They want your money, but after that, they don’t seem too interested.

    Super quiet ,real fast tank fill, FANTASTIC. I use this in my gun room for gun cleaning . Very quiet and is a real nice lil compressor. Like the easy to read gauges along with its adjustability and small size . This is what I had been wanting for years . Plus it is smooth running does NOT vibrate all over the place . If your looking for a in the house QUIET small compressor this is the one for sure . Use it for what it is and you should be happy with it.
