I needed to replace a spout that was about 25 years old. The old one threaded on and this one is designed to slide on with an O ring type seal. I had to remove the threaded fitting from the existing stub, cut the stub to the proper length, cleaned stub burrs and polished it, then slid this one on. It is held in place with a set screw. Looks good and was easy to install.

Looks nice, durable-seeming construction, installed onto a slip-on copper pipe very easily and secured WITH A HEX KEY easily and firmly. That "hex key" bit is in caps because it's very important. A conventional screw is an extremely dumb design for an item like this (because you can't get a straight shot at it from underneath). There is another manufacturer that shall be nameless (<*cough*Danco*cough*>) that actually uses a Philips-head screw to secure the adapter. But this one doesn't.

The diverter works fine and there is no leakage. (Be 100% sure you sand down your copper pipe before installation, as even a tiny little burr can wreck your O-ring and cause wall damage. Do not skimp on this step!)

I'm only giving it four stars because the water comes out a little sloppy. This is still very much good value for money! If you want a nice, pretty, smooth stream of water coming out of the fixture, you're going to want to blow $50 or more on a higher-level Moen or equivalent. If you want an inexpensive tub spout that gets the job done, this is your product.

I'm really impressed with this tub spout. The fact that it doesn't leak is a major bonus. Also, the price was surprisingly affordable. In my opinion, it's a great product for a great price. A real bargain!

I had to have a plumber install the unit because you need special "plumber" attachments to make it work properly. Good thing I had a plumber at my house for another project.
