5.0 out of 5 stars Safety and easy to apply

When I moved into my new condo, I didn’t realize the sliding glass doors open on both ends. So the rod that was in the inside track was useless To prevent somebody from breaking in or opening the other sliding door. A coworker told me about these. They came overnight easy to apply very sturdy-Stick to the glass and work perfectly. I had been staying up at night, afraid to sleep because it was dark outside those doors no Outside lighting. After I applied these, I sleep well- I feel very safe.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still strong 1.5 years later

I have had these on my sliding door for almost 2 years now. One did fall off but the reason why I won't knock a star was because I was too excited to use these and didn't clean the bottom of my sliding door before placement. The top one is still holding strong!

Easy for anyone to use and less annoying and cumbersome than the security bars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works really well, but MAKE SURE YOU LET THE ADHESIVE CURE
Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2024

So I originally installed this wrong 4 years ago because I was like, who needs instructions, and then I did it wrong. But!! It still worked! After 4 years of slamming the door into it by about an inch every time we opened the sliding door but forgot it was locked it eventually broke. I can’t stress enough that I did it the wrong direction and it still functioned great. I don’t think anyone ever tried to break in but I can tell you from experience that no one was coming in or out of that door if you didn’t unlock the burglar bar first.

But I needed to replace it. So we installed a new one (the correct way) and it’s snug, installation went great, looks amazing. I tried it out and when locked the door doesn’t budge. Perfect. So I went to show my partner and this is where I messed up. Y’all need to take that adhesive warning seriously. Command strips and stuff like that have them too and I never paid attention, which is on me. Give it the time it needs to fully adhere to the glass. when I went to show my partner how snug the door is now that the bar is properly installed, I hadn’t waited long enough and the bar fell off and into the gap between the 2 sliding doors. We can’t get it out. The door will open mostly but It won’t close all the way. I broke a chopstick, bent a butter knife and jammed my finger trying to get it out. We accidentally knocked the door slightly off track trying to pull it to give us more room to get it out, that didn’t work. We tried to take the doors out of the door frame but the bolts are really stuck in there because this is a really old apartment. My landlord has to come today to try and take my doors off to get this stupid thing out of there. We were up most of the night trying to fix this.

TLDR; Works perfect! Minus one star because when user error strikes a little bit, the result is incredibly irritating and honestly does the opposite of intended, as the door won’t close, or lock, but can open most of the way which is both inconvenient and possibly dangerous. We have to keep our cats in the living room with supervised bathroom breaks into the bedroom/bathroom because they can get through the gap, even though we tried to block it off. I know it’s my fault for not letting the adhesive cure for the full 48 hours or whatever but I didn’t think it would lead to this

5.0 out of 5 stars Safety enhancement

Great high quality product that looks nice, enhances security, functions as an extra locking measure? And is simple and easy to install.

If you have little ones, place this high enough and they can't unlock it to open your doors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Burglabar 2 Pack for Sliding Doors: A Decent Layer of Defense (But Maybe Not a Silver Bullet)
Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2024
I recently bought these Burglabar 2 Packs for my sliding doors, and a friend is going through a tough situation with her ex. Here's my breakdown of what to expect:

Pros:
Easy to Install: These things are super simple to put on - no tools required! Just peel and stick according to the instructions.
Additional Deterrent: While not Fort Knox, the Burglabar makes it more difficult for someone to casually pry open your sliding door. This might be enough to deter an opportunistic thief.
Peace of Mind: Having this little barrier in place offers some added comfort during a stressful time, especially for my friend.

Cons:
Not Foolproof: Let's be honest; a determined intruder could probably break through these with enough force. They're more of a deterrent than a complete security solution.
Limited Stopping Power: If someone really wants to get in, they could potentially break the glass in the door.
Rental Restrictions: Some rental agreements might not allow permanent fixtures like these on the doors.

Overall:
The Burglabar is a budget-friendly option for adding a little extra security to your sliding doors. It's easy to install and offers peace of mind, especially for those who feel vulnerable. However, it's important to remember that it's not an impenetrable force field.

The Bottom Line:
The Burglabar can be useful, but security is a layered approach. For comprehensive protection, consider it alongside other measures.

4.0 out of 5 stars Adhesive too thin, easily defeated with heat. Use your own VHB clear tape instead.
Reviewed in the United States on August 7, 2024
I'm not sure if they changed their supplier for the adhesive, but recently purchased in 08-2024, the adhesive strip was very thin and after sitting on my window for a morning, the bar was ejected from the surface of the window by the force from opening a window. I thought it was a bad adhesion, but I checked my other installation and the tape was severely softened by the morning sun.

Keep in mind that with the provided sticky tape, warm weather or a burglar with a hairdryer/lighter could soften the tape from the outside and knock the device loose.

The tape aside, the device is still very nice but I would recommend a 1/8 inch 3M clear VHB tape to secure it and not with the provided adhesive.
