About this item

Reliability and Consistency: The Jurgen K stud finder uses multi-sensing technology to accurately and quickly find the edges and centers of live AC wires behind metal, studs, joists, pipes, walls, floors and ceilings. Whether you're hanging a picture, installing a TV or renovating part of your home, the Jurgen K stud detector is a must-have tool!
5 in 1 Multifunction Detection: The upgraded 5 in 1 mode provides users with more detection needs. The stud scan is available in 5 modes: 1/2 inch(13 mm), 1 inch (25 mm) and 1.5 inch (38 mm), Metal scan (60 mm)and AC scan (51 mm). Quick detection saves users time and effort, making tasks easier to complete. Whether you are a professional, homeowner or DIY enthusiast, it must be the ultimate choice.
High Performance: An easy-to-read LCD screen displays the required stud material and the precise position of the stud. When the device detects an object, it makes a continuous beeping sound, and a pecking shape is displayed on the LCD screen. This wall scanner features a backlit LCD display and low power indicator to inform you when you should replace the battery for optimal performance (including the 9V battery).
Ergonomic Grip & Auto Calibration: Ergonomic non-slip grip provides comfort and convenience for users while scanning. Calibration before use provides users with maximum reliability and accuracy. First place it flat on the wall, second, turn on the power button, then hold down the scan button to start the calibration, when the beep and screen display disappear, the calibration is complete.
This stud detector quickly locates wood, metal and AC wires hidden in your house's walls, floors and ceilings. It can work on different wall surfaces, such as slats, wallpapered wood floors, soundproof ceilings, painted walls, etc., to help you avoid hazards when installing TVS, cabinets, garage racks, etc.

Tiny bit more expensive than some of the others but seems to be so much more precise. Also finds studs of varying thickness, and electrical wiring! Pop in the battery, and boom, ready to use.

It’s really helpful for me, but it’s not accurate all the time, so you need to repeat the process many times to make sure that you got the center of a stud

3.0 out of 5 stars Fast detection saves users time but the operating manual wastes your time
Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2021
The product itself works fine or probably better than most similar products, but I really hate the user manual. English language is a little strange but not too bad, so it's okay (I got used to this thing already).

The manual consists of six major sections, namely:

0. Multifunctional Wall Scanner (specs or characteristics of the product)
1. Installing the battery (As soon as I put the supplied battery, the unit showed low battery warning though, so I used mine instead)
2. Operating tips
3.Finding a stud
4. AC wire warning
5. Warning

Strangely, Operating Tips section is the longest section of the manual and the section first talks about calibrating the unit a little bit without detais. But since this section is the longest. you have to wonder how you can calibrate the unit while you are reading. This makes a reader quite frustrating. Then, when you get to the Finding Stud Section, you can "somehow" get the idea how to calibrate the unit. You can start scanning the wall after the indicator bars on the display disappears (calibration finished) as the manual says, but the manual forgot to mention pressing the scan button to make the reducing bar appear and start calibration. So, the correct procedure to calibrate is,

1. Press the mode switch and select the desired mode
2. Place the unit against the wall
3. Press the scan button (but do not move and try to scan at this moment) and wait until the reducing bar on the screen disappears
4. Start scanning

I think the manual also forgot to mention two other things. One thing is whether or not a user has to keep pressing the scan button while scanning the wall as other scanners require (maybe older ones?). In the case of this unit, once calibration is finished, you do NOT have to keep pressing the scan button while scanning. The other thing the manual forgot to mention is scanning direction. It does not matter if you move the unit to the right or to the left. Occasionally you see left or right arrow on the screen. These arrows mean since you passed one edge of the stud, you need to move the unit to the direction the arrow indicates (direction where the stud is actually located). Thus, the unit tries to fine the center of the stud. Since this unit shows you the "center of the stud", the arrows do not mean you have to move the unit to locate the other side of the edge so that you will know the center of the stud as a mid point of your handwriting markings. When a arrow appears, just move the unit to the direction the arrow points out (it may occur a couple of times or more left or right in a row) and let the unit find the center.

Another thing I have to mention in the manual is that, it says in "Operating Tips section", in AC (live alternate current) scan mode, you must need put the tool in the air to calibrate it. please do not calibrate the tool on the wall or it may not detect wire. The language is a little strange but understandable, so it's okay here. The problem is in the warning section of the manual (most information is not a waning though), it says that press the tool flat against the wall, then press scan button. Wait for the beep to confirm calibration has completed before moving the tool. Since I do not use AC mode, I don't really have to care, but in which way calibration in AC mode has to be made, in the air or flat against the wall?

I like the product itself. Since many things exist behind the wall, there are no perfect stud finders you can trust 100% but this product is reasonably accurate. But as I mentioned above, this very disorganized user manual makes you frustrating, wasting your time for this type of supposed-to-be simple tool.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have!

As a DIY enthusiast, I recently purchased the Stud Finder Wall Scanner from Amazon and I am thrilled with my purchase. This is easily one of the best stud finders I have ever used, and it has made my home improvement projects so much easier.

First of all, the build quality of this scanner is top-notch. It feels sturdy in my hand and is easy to use. The LED screen is clear and easy to read, and the button layout is intuitive.

But what really sets this stud finder apart is its accuracy. I've used other stud finders in the past that were hit-or-miss, but this one is spot on every time. It quickly and easily detects studs and other hidden objects behind walls, which is incredibly helpful when hanging shelves, cabinets, or other heavy items.

I also appreciate the extra features that come with this scanner, such as the ability to detect live electrical wiring and metal pipes. This has saved me from accidentally drilling into wires or pipes and causing damage.

Overall, I highly recommend the Stud Finder Wall Scanner to anyone looking for a reliable and accurate tool for their DIY projects. It has definitely made my life easier, and I'm sure it will do the same for you. Five stars!

1.0 out of 5 stars False positives, inconsistent

Scanned the walls after calibration. Detected and marked out what should be a stud, but keep getting AC warnings. Used electrical tracer and did not pick up any signs of AC. Allow stud finder to calibrate again. Will no longer detect stud in same area mapped out before. Gives zero assurance of safe drill points or stud position. Watched a video, read the instructions again. Same results. First day opening and beyond the Amazon return window so I guess I have a cool looking paperweight.
