I've used this a lot for the last two years. Molding, tires, blowing out the shop a few times a week, and pneumatic tools. Today I took down a 25 year old bolted structure with an impact wrench and just thought I should give a shout out to the makers of this compressor. You can't go zip-zip-zip-zip with 8 gallons undoing corroded bolts, instead having to give it a minute break to build pressure back up after a zip or two or three depending, but plenty of a initial reservoir I thought. Even had a friend comment on how surprisingly quiet it is a number of months ago. Seems to work as good now as it did originally.

It did leak air around the pressure switch assembly in the beginning and I couldn't just tighten it a little because the assembly would hit the tank. Had to take all that apart, teflon tape it, and put it back together. It's been a couple years but I recall replacing a fitting.

Two things I thought about improving on it and one is the gauge. I have some wagon wheels that say 15 lbs and it's just a guess on the gauge included. Right now I set what appears to be about 15 lbs on that gauge... then tire gauge, add pressure, tire gauge, add pressure... etc until finally, close enough. The other, the drain cock. Thought about lifting the thing off the floor more with larger wheels and adding some to the front, then pointing the drain out the side with copper. Too many other things to do so I haven't got to it but I think about it every time I open that drain. As it is, I'm feeling around underneath the thing to find the drain and have my ears right near the 100+ psi exhausting after I open it.

I'd guess the weight empty is about 3-4 gallons of milk. Not that big of a deal. That's my experience. I'd buy it again for sure as it fits my needs fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing! I don't know how long it will last ...

I have never written a review before, but I feel this Campbell Hausfeld air compressor is worthy of one. I ordered this compressor through Amazon and it arrived 3 days later. Took it out f the box and put it together, and then went through the break in process. When I fired it up I couldn't believe how quite it was. When I ran my old compressor I had to take my hearing aids out. With this new Campbell Hausfeld compressor running I can leave my hearing aids in, and also have a conversation with my wife. Amazing! I don't know how long it will last me, but I know it's really quiet, and it fills up with air pressure very quickly. Perfect for my needs!

4.0 out of 5 stars Compressor only, no hose or accessories.

Compressor only, no hose, couplers or connectors. Lack of setup documentation is a negative, althof it was pretty easy to figure out how to attach the wheels, handle and air cleaner. Bought the recommende hose and accessory kit. Hose was kinl=ked and cheaply made. Very still and unwiedly even at warm ambient temp. Watched a YouTube video on setup and accessories. Compressor worked perfectly. Very quiet. Would recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works good, don't forget to break in
Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2019
UPDATE: I have had this compressor for 5 years now, still works like day one. Love it and keeps up with filling 80 psi tires which is my main use around the property. I have a 30 year old same brand big compressor and never use it because this one is so much quieter and more convenient.
    Original Review:
I did the break-in procedure has recommended, and holy cow this thing is quiet and seems to put out some good air. Will update the review after it gets more use and if it lasts will up it to 5 start.

2.0 out of 5 stars Quit after less than 3 years of light use
Reviewed in the United States on September 28, 2024
I've bought 2 different Campbell Hausfeld compressors. The first one lasted over 10 years. This model lasted less than 3 years with light use. It's now leaking in 2 places, at the pressure switch and at the relief valve on the side of the pump...so the compressor just keeps running without building up pressure in the tank. I've ordered a replacement from a different manufacturer.
