I was a little reluctant to accept the claims that it filters 99% of possible contaminants. My former step dad is an expert in the field of water contamination and has worked on super fund sites to clean the waterways. I asked him if he’d be willing to test my unfiltered drinking water vs the filtered. He was happy to and reported back that it did as it stated. He was highly surprised at exactly how many contaminates are in my local drinking water. That’s another story…

As for the price it does fluctuate which is frustrating. People here complain that the price is expensive but what exactly is your health worth? People have to replace their furnace / AC filters on a regular basis, change the oil on the car, etc. so this is just part of adulting and having to do maintenance on an item. The added benefit is that this filter directly impacts your health. It’s much safer and easier to drink filtered water then it is to roll the dice with some of the microplastics in bottled water. Studies have shown that tap water has fewer microplastics and this filter takes out other contaminants. Win-win. Besides for the cost it’s a lot less per gallon then buying actual bottled water.

Genuine replacement - Extremely easy to install

I noticed the flow rate of water from the external dispenser on my Frigidaire refrigerator was slower than normal. A quick Internet search indicated that a common reason for this is a clogged water filter. As I had never changed mine, and it was 5+ years old, I purchased this genuine replacement. Removing the old one from the inside of my refrigerator involves just a firm push on it to release and then sliding it out. The replacement looked identical and was slid firmly into place. The entire process took about 20 seconds. I then tested the water flow rate and flow returned to normal in seconds.

I suggest before making the purchase that you confirm where your filter is located and that you can remove it. Then just be sure to check the correct filter for your refrigerator before ordering. That's all there is to it.
