Some other Merv 8 air filters were almost twice the price as the equally good Amazon Basics filters

These filters fit in my HVAC unit fine and do their job well! Happy with their performance.

Usually use FilterBuy. I can immediately notice the difference in strength/structure of these Amazon filters. Evident by the filters being delivered absolutey crushed on arrival. Lol.

Got an exchange, and the differences are immediately noticeable. Amazon filters weigh less and feel flimsy. However, it fits the return vents more snug than the FilterBuy filters. Making the dimensions a little more true to size. The actual filter material seemed less dense and more transparent than the FilterBuy. Which could arguably be better, as it stresses the unit less...

In terms of function. It works, but I do feel like it's not the MERV 8 it claims. The purifier air quality measurement in my bedroom has generally been up about 30points since using these filters. Perhaps a higher MERV in the Amazon basic may makes a difference in air quality.

For now, I'm personally not convinved enough to switch over. But it does the job for now running the fan only and the heat at nights. I am curious to see how it performs in the summer when the AC is running way more frequently.

These are the best value for the higher Merv rating and 6 pack. It has a smaller paper birder than the name brands so that's good because it has more filter material. Would purchase again when needing refills.
