5.0 out of 5 stars Strongest hold available! Read below for easy removal
Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2023
You won't find a stronger hold than these! I've purchased them multiple times. They hold more weight than you think - which is already a lot. I've only used them in the bathrooms (tile and glass) so I can't speak to using them on a painted wall. As far as durability, you will sleep peacefully with these hooks knowing your shelves (loaded with big shampoos) aren't going to fall down.

I noticed that some reviews mentioned that they are hard to remove. As I mentioned, they do their job well so it takes a small amount of effort to remove them (Note: they are not reusable so removal is intended when you no longer want to use them).

This is speaking for tile and glass - the removal instructions say to use a hair dryer to heat them up. I tried this for the first one, I kept it on high and held it for several minutes. Wouldn't budge. Eventually the corner was melted a bit so I tried pulling it, and it ripped off the tiniest piece. That was only the top layer, so there was a sticky gooey mess underneath. I don't know how much the hair dryer was helping versus hindering, but it took me 25 minutes to get it off. It was a cycle of tearing a tiny piece, dealing with the goo underneath that did NOT want to come off at all, and continuing. The middle circle was by far the most difficult part to remove. It was stuck on there and didn't want to come off. I had to spend quite some time getting all the residue left behind. At that moment I was regretting buying so many because I couldn't possibly spend that mu h time removing each one (I got bigger shelves so I was removing the current ones and putting the new shelves in a different corner).

The second one I removed, I ditched the hair dryer. I was so frustrated that I thought there has to be a better way. I had a 75 cent plastic putty scraper from Walmart. They have various sizes but I had the 1 inch one already. (Note: if you done have a putty scraper, just use a credit card.) I sprayed Goo Gone at the top of the second hook, used the putty scraper to get into a corner, put Goo Gone in that corner ...and did that for only a MINUTE AND A HALF, and the whole thing was off. Goo Gone, Putty Scraper, Goo Gone, Putty Scraper, Goo Gone, Putty Scraper. Now I was mad that I didn't think about that sooner. Ditch the removal instructions it came with and use this method. It was so much faster I couldn't believe it - the kicker is that it pulled up the sticky goo with the putty scraper so I had zero residue. This is the only way I'm removing these from now on.

10/10 for hold strength, 0/10 for recommended removal method, 100/10 for removal process with Goo Gone

5.0 out of 5 stars They definitely hold on rough surfaces

The good news...these STICK on on even rough surfaces!! im decorating a friends wedding in a couple weeks & the venue is VERY strict on basically not using ANYTHING that will leave ANY kind of mark. i made a fake shell light to hang above the table the marriage license will be. its a old clock frame that was maybe thin MDF, the shells are wax paper with thin metal connector loops, and the lights are 2 battery powered led strips so its pretty light weight.
my first test above my sink i used a command hook..BIG FAIL! 3 hours later it fell & the frame broke luckily it was fixable but has a "scar" lol then i got these, for this test i hung it over my bed and didnt attach the shells (in hopes that if it falls it wouldnt break) i figured i would leave the "shells" in the box i put them in and sit it on top of the light (as my pic shows) so i knew for sure it would hold the entire weight once its fully assembled. as you can see my ceiling had a crappy texture thing, the venue has stained wood planks ( like a floor) once placed this hook with my light frame & box on top wasnt going anywhere! after 2 weeks ( life got in the way it stayed longer then i intended) i applied heat like the description says, first i tried a microwave heat thing but after 3 min of holding it up it clearly wasnt going to work. then i got a extension cord & hair dryer, on high heat for 8-10 min...it WAS working but then i got impatient, my fingers were getting sore trying to lightly pull the hot plastic and i pulled too hard...yeah not good lol it took off the paint/texture as you can see in my pic. so to sum up...they REALLY WORK WELL, but make sure you have the patients to remove with heat!
UPDATE: thankfully the venue already had a hook above the table for the light i was going to use these hooks on because i ended up needing 2 of them to help (there were already 2 "real" hooks there) hold the rod for macramé curtain in the background of the one picture. i also used 2 on each window in the other picture to hold up some makeshift "rods" for the window sheers & florals. the rods were actually rods from back ground stands, they have holes to attach to the stands & these hooks went right in the holes & held it up for 3 days! all the surfaces i put them on were "stained" wood & they peeled off clean (no residue) & damage free without the need for heat to remove them...i would def use again, they were a life saver for being able to decorate the wedding! the venue owner was so impressed with these & the "scotch" sticky plastic velcro kind of things i used she asked me to send her the links so she could tell future clients (:

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Hold, Not Necessarily Renter Friendly
Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2024
So I waited a long time to review these, because I wanted to see how they would remove when they time came to get a bigger place - before I reviewed them!
So to start with if you put these on most surfaces I've tried, they hold really well. However if you're planning to test out the weight limit on it: I recommend letting it set for at least twelve hours to harden. It held almost everything I put on them and the few times it didn't, was because I decided to test limits.
When I moved recently I went to remove these (now I should have known better seeing as they were so gosh darn strong ) I tried a couple ways of getting it off my painted walls - and just peeling it off, however slowely, did not go well. It took off several layers of paint (mmm, landlord special) as well as some dry wall in some areas. However I did find that using heat (like a blow dryer) and my ID helped immensely with the removal process and then I just used goo-be-gone and it came off beautifully. Great product, just be wary of removal

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy installation & strong

All you have to do is take the sticker off the back, place on the wall, and press down.

I needed something to get the backpacks off the floor and doorknob, and this product made placing them behind my door incredibly ease. It makes my space much more organized.

Plus it holds up to 13 pounds.

This is a much better way than using a nail and destroying my paint and wall.
