    This is a much better stud finder than other ones out there. I’ve gone through a few stud finders over the years & this one works the best & is the most accurate. It also has multiple features that regular stud finders don’t include. It detects not only the studs but also indicates the edges of the stud. It also will detect different size studs.
    The best part is that it comes with everything you need, including a screwdriver to open the battery compartment. It also came with 9 volt battery.

    I bought a stud finder to hang a shelf, and overall, it worked great and did exactly what I needed by helping me locate the studs behind the wall. However, because it has so many features, there is a bit of a learning curve. For example, when I was searching for a stud, I followed the directions by holding the side button, but it didn't locate anything right away. I had to move it back and forth several times to finally get a reading. Also, be aware that the stud finder can be slightly temperamental; if it's even slightly crooked, it might not show the center of the stud. If you're getting a reading but can't find the center, try tilting the bottom left or right a bit, and you'll likely hit it. Although it took me a little while to figure out, it was a lifesaver and prevented me from making a bunch of unnecessary holes in the wall. Overall, it was excellent.

    Very accurate. It even has a notch on top so you can make center. It also has a buzz when your centered. It comes with a 9 volt battery which is a little tight inserting. A small complaint for a great device.

    This stud finder works well most of the time but does occasionally miss the stud, which can be a bit frustrating. I haven’t tested it with live wires yet, so I can’t speak to that functionality.

    For the price, it’s an okay tool for basic use, but don’t expect perfection. If you’re doing more precise work, you might want to consider something more reliable.

    As I’m move into the retirement phase of life, I am working on making minor renovations in my home. This walled finder has saved me a lot of time. It is simple to use And has saved me from making twice as much work for myself! It’s versatile in that it finds wood and metal studs. The battery life seems to be good as well.

    I. needed to. Place shelves under a washroom sink. This locator helped me avoid cutting live wires nehind the walk where I had to place supports. Other locators could have shine me the supports, but would have missed the wiring, unless you went to more expensive stud finders. I’m a happy camper with mine.

    Based on how the unit looked out of the box, I suspect that it was a return. The photos don't show nearly as well as in person, but you can still see that the screen not only had no protective film, but also has what appears to be finger smudges. And the 'pads' that float against the wall are dirty, with particles of who knows what embedded within them. Disappointing since I purchased new and not used.

    It comes with a battery installed, which is nice, and it turned on with no problem. I've yet to read the long set of instructions to see what all of the functions are and how they work, but I did try out a simple stud search and it appears to have nice accuracy, with a side note* (more on that next).

    Another negative is the way the unit feels while swiping it across the wall. The pads are made of what I can only describe as one half of hook and loop (Velcro). It's not very smooth at all, and the feel of it when swiping it is 'off'. *It's a little scratchy against the wall and I believe you do lose some accuracy as a result because instead of a nice smooth run, it 'jumps' a bit from being 'scratchy'. It's like using an optical mouse when you need to pinpoint something really small on your screen and should have a laser mouse. Hope that makes sense.

    If I find any issues or find that it has some great features, I will update my review at a later date.
