I have super long and thick hair and have tried several variations of hair collection products to prevent the shower drain from clogging with hair. I’ve found that all metal simple filters designs are hard to clean and get so disgusting that other people in the house don’t want to use them anyway. I’ve used other similar products to the tub shroom but found that they either let hair through too much or block water from draining. The tub shroom is the BEST one I’ve used. This simple, hygienic silicone doesn’t get as dirty as some of the metal mesh filters I’ve seen and is repellant to bacterial growth (though the real stainless steel and silicon e one’s are good for this too). It’s also very simple to pull the hair off of it, give it a rinse, and pop it back in. The clever design allows for water to enter in all directions and drain well, even performing adequately when the thing has quite a bit of hair in it. I bought one first for my parents house when I had to pull a monster clog out of the shower while visiting (nobody was using the gross Walmart hair filter). I pulled this sucker out a month later and it’s so good at what it does that it’s always in use and there’s NO buildup of hair in the drain below. I’m getting one for myself next!
