This is the second I've purchased. Used for storing cookware. Solid, attractive looking shelves. Easy to assemble. No issues whatsoever. Very happy with Muscle Rack.

I couldn't wait to write this review after my experience! I bought two shelves to place on an empty wall in my kitchen to give it an industrial look. I'll start off by saying that I am very pleased with the sturdiness and ease of putting them together IF YOU READ THE VERY BASIC AND SIMIPLE INSTRUCTIONS! SO, TAKE HEED! MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT PUT COUPLE THE POST TOGETHER UPSIDE DOWN! It's not rocket science but trying to take the couplers off AFTER you put the post on upside down is a nightmare unless you are super strong and are patient enough to lightly tap the couplers off with a hammer. The first shelf took me 30 minutes to put together and the second shelf took me less than 10 minutes. The only other major slowdown I had was figuring out where to place each shelf because it seems the instructions really leave it up to you where they are placed. I wanted them proportionately installed but with the coupler in the way of placing one of the shelf brackets proportionately, I had to put my basic math skills to the test and they failed me several times on the first shelf. I had to move the brackets quite a few times until I got it right. Unlike changing the post installation though, moving the the shelf brackets are super easy to do. Also, I see a lot of people say a rubber mallet is needed. It would be nice if you have one but I didn't have one and I had no problem using a small hammer. The post and brackets are super solid metal so they didn't bend or show hammer marks at all. Lastly, my kitchen wood is dark walnut so I took some leftover stain and stained the particle boards. Now, I can't even tell they aren't real wood. I've attached a pic. I still have to get a wine rack and my glass jars to put on my new shelf that I love so much. :-)

Bought 3 sets of these shelves. 1st one assembled today. 4 four of the wood shelves fall through the frames due to being cut too small. The frame has metal tabs on the horizontal shelf supports that fit into holes on the uprights. They are tapped into place - a rubber hammer is best. Once in place, the horizontal supports should stay in place. When putting in the first horizontal piece, it seemed to fit firmly, but tapping the second support into place caused the first one to pop loose and fall out. A 30 minute assembly took two hours. I have two much older shelves of this type that were better made and still in good shape after 15 years. The one I just assembled looks good, but is a cheap knockoff. I should have spent more and bought better shelves. I will make 4 new wood shelves for this. Very poor quality overall

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to assemble - Very clever design

Very clever design. All you need is a rubber hammer. Bought two of these and it took two people about 10 minutes to assemble each of them. Very sturdy and very reasonably priced considering how easy they are to assemble and how well made they are.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but with hit or miss quality control

    Pros:
    A) Builds easily.
-- 1) People saying it doesn't hold together until you've got boxes on it are not reading instructions. You need a rubber mallet, or a hammer and something to protect the blows, to get it settled.
    B) The silver vein powder coating is nice looking and took a decent couple smacks of the hammer without chipping
    C) PRICE! Paid $49~... Costco has a nearly similar version that's $69.99 as of this review (12/15/24)

    Cons:
    A) The MDF wood shelves are incorrectly sized - see photos.
-- 1) Only two of the five shelves will fit correctly. I'll have to go to HD or Lowes to get correctly fitting.
-- 2) Costco model for $20 more would have likely fit perfect

Perfect fit in our garages. We've purchased 3 already and will purchase more to line the wall with them. This item has stability but is not heavy until you add stuff to the shelves. They look great and store anything from wiper fluid, car seats, air compressors to plant pots and car detailing items. Great value for your money.
