Impressive tape, can't believe I've never had a roll of this before

This stiff is great. For what it is. My daughter hit something and her inner fender liner (semi flexible black plastic) cracked and was missing some bits. I tried rebuilding it without black duct tape and some gaffer tape (just what I had) and I decided I wanted to try to fix this a bit more permanent. And I got some of this tape, and used it to fix the fender liner, it worked great. Should I have bought a new one? Or a non-broken one? Sure but it was very easy and really held up. Super useful tape.

The text beyond the line is the review from a different reviewer named Mark from June 21, 2022. I literally screenshot his review so I could repair my own 1,200 gallon vinyl pool. I had only one tiny hole spurting water on the seam of the side and the bottom. I couldn’t find the patch that came with the pool, so I was hoping for some sort of solution. So far, after one week, so good!

I will add, be conscious about where you set the tape roll when not in use. It is so sticky that you’ll ruin any paper or susceptible materials with the adhesion of the side of the tape.

Okay, so this is Gorilla Tape. Gorilla tape works, we all know this. But what about underwater?

So my brand spanking new vinyl liner pool decides to spring not one, not two, but three leaks on its first fill up.

3000 gallons of water to fill this thing up, I wasn't going to empty it! I live in a desert, I felt guilty enough filling it up, emptying it out to fix a hole and then refilling, no way.

So I researched a ton of different patches and came across this product here on Amazon. The reviews were weird. Yes, I read them just like you are doing now. Some say it didn't stick at all? Another says it comes off the roll really loose.

Here is the scoop - there is an error on the directions for this tape.

So, let's do two things here together - One, know you are not wasting your time, get this product. Right now, don't waste time!

Two, read below on a couple of important but easy steps on using it.

1) The directions tell you to cut off the piece you want and then round the corners. Here is something important: Do NOT - guys, read that again - do NOT - use your wife's good scissors or the ones in your knife rack. Don't do it guys. The residue left behind was like crazy glue. It sticks! Your best bet is using a decent pair of scissors and making your cuts in one smooth motion. This will prevent goo from getting on your scissors.

2) AFTER cutting, get to where you need to place the tape and then REMOVE the transparent liner over the sticky part of the tape. The directions never tell you to remove this liner! Well, to those people with the negative reviews, they didn't remove the liner. Once you remove it, watch out - it is sticky as can be! Try not to touch the sticky part!!

We took the tape, sticky exposed, went underwater, and stuck that bad boy right where the pool was leaking. Pressed all the air out, pressed down on the edges, then just stood on it for a few minutes.

Did this for all three holes and not one has leaked again.

Okay, so it isn't as pretty as some of the other patches, it is a big black piece of tape. But it works and works fast and it is easy.

Buy with confidence.

Definitely the tape to buy if you need waterproof tape.

We have the Styrofoam houses outside for the feral cats in our neighborhood. The houses are covered with black plastic, which a racoon decided to destroy. The tape worked perfectly to recover the plastic. It is wide and sticks like crazy. It did take me some time to figure out how to remove the backing on the tape as is comes off the roll. The tape is SO STICKY, you have to be careful not to let it fold over on itself or you or anything in the vicinity because it does stick on contact - and I mean stick!!! I also used the tape to put a large waterproof tarp over the houses. It worked perfectly, sticking to the brick wall, the house and the cement. I don't think this tarp is coming up before the next century!!

Built a selfwatering raised garden bed with pond liner. Liner leaked with 3 holes and/or cracks.
After dumping all my precious soil out, finding the leakes, I was going to replace the liner for an additiopnal 100 dollar cost. Instead I purchased this Gorilla waterproof tape. First (not recommned by company) I cut small circle twice the size of the hole and covered the hole. Then, i cut 4 inch wide second peice and rolled out the tape over the first smaller tape covering the patch. You Need to use a wood roller or somehting to sweeze out the adhesive after peeling back protective sleeve and flatten out the tape. didnt have a wood roller so i used a beer bottle. Worked fine.

End result, I filled the pond liner 3 inches over the taped holes and held the weater without losing a single drop for 3 full days. Pumped out the water, placed in my perferated 4 inch tubes, coconut perlite combo, then compost & soil. worked perfectly. I recommend this tape to do the job...
