Titebond III Ultimate Wood Glue

Titebond III Ultimate (4 oz., 8 oz., 16 oz., 32 oz., gallon)

The preferred choice of professional woodworkers.

The ultimate in performance and application, this top-rated glue provides the strongest, most durable and waterproof bond possible with water-based technology. Ideal for both exterior and interior woodworking projects, Titebond III Ultimate Wood Glue offers a longer open time, lower application temperature, excellent sandability and is approved for indirect food contact.

Limitations

Not for continuous submersion or for use below the waterline. Not for structural or load bearing applications. Do not use when temperature, glue or materials are below 47°F. Keep from freezing. Keep out of reach of children.

Pro Tips

  • When gluing, use masking tape to cover areas (near glue joint) that may be stained later.
  • Use of tape helps cleanup and ensures successful staining— glues are not stainable.
  • For oily woods, wipe wood with acetone. This removes the oils, ensuring a successful bond.
  • For PRO advice on any project, trust Titebond – the professional’s choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing stuff
Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2024
I built this table for the outside on the patio. I didn't want to use screws, nails or brad nailer brads to attach the trim. This stuff set up quickly and appears to hold up after getting rained on, so that is a good thing. One thing I noticed is this stuff is thinner than the original type 1 Titebond glue. I did make a bit of a mess with the first application. I used Gorilla glue in the past for waterproof applications, but the way it expands can cause appearance issues. It definitely would not have worked on this table without extreme care.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great wood glue

Titebond III Ultimate Wood Glue is my favorite of the brands of wood glues that I've tried. It has a good dispensing spout that doesn't clog as easily as some others (and cleans easily if the glue dries in the tip), comes out of the round 16-ounce bottle easily, spreads easily, and is strong when cured. Highly recommended.

Edit to add: One other recommendation is that if you accidentally get Titebond III Ultimate Wood Glue on your clothes, wash it out immediately. It's relatively easy to clean up and get all of the glue out with water (and a little soap on the residue, if desired) while the glue is still wet, but once it dries, it's waterproof and resists coming out of one's jeans with repeated washings. Don't ask me how I know!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for wood to wood bonds

I used this Tightbond lll to laminate some pieces of 1/8 plywood together. The working time is fairly short. Put glue on one surface, bring dry surface to it and rub two surfaces around a little. Then get into final position and clamp. Your clamp should squeeze some glue out of joints. It’s tough!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dry time is perfect!

Using on my 127yo red oak hardwood floors - I'm gluing jute rope and hammering it into the gaps. This is THE perfect glue! It's just one less thing I have to worry about. If I sing the rope below the board, I have time to bring the rope up and lay it down again. Dries like the color of wood. Doesn't expand like Gorilla glue

I've been woodworking for 30+ years. Titebond III is absolutely the best wood glue money can buy. Suitable for all projects. It won't let you down. Long shelf life also.

There are valid arguments to be made for using the other 2 however, its not that much more money, has longer work time, and its stronger so do urself a favor and spring for the titebond 3 you wont be disappointed
