We had a water leak inside wall. This meter matched the numbers the plumber's meter showed. Handy to have to track progress on repairs. Very easy to use.

After hurricane Ian all 11 floors of our beachfront condo were flooded when a roof vent blew off. The Homeowners associating mandated immediate action to remove wet flooring and drywall. I ordered this moisture meter from Amazon and got it the same day. Right after a major hurricane. Amazon is a lifesaver. I was able to measure and mark every wall surface in my unit to determine which had to be ripped out and which could be saved. It is virtually idiot proof. There is a numerical reading of moisture in percentage, as well as a bar graph, and most importantly an audible alarm for excessive readings. Using the audible alarm alone I was able to quickly find wet areas, even when reaching behind furniture or appliances where the display was not visible. I would have rated this product five stars were it not for the useless 9V battery that was shipped with it, which lasted only 2-3 minutes. Luckily I had read that this was the case in other posted reviews, so I took a spare when I used it for the first time. Also as noted in other reviews, the need for a screwdriver to remove and change the battery is a negative design feature.

Bought this to check moisture at mother-in-law's house. Worked great on walls, wood, and tile surface. Identified areas of compromise that needed to be rebuilt. Recommended if you suspect water leaks behind walls.

It says it reads moisture at 3/4 inches. And if you want to read less deep, you need to put it on a piece of wood that thick...If you want it to read 1/2" deep into your material, you need to place and slide it on a piece of wood 1/4 " thick...Also it reads Both soft and Hard woods. Had an estimated done with a tool that costs 4x what this one does and this one found moisture where theirs did not! Found mold in the wall behind sheet rock also. I can not say enough about the value of this tool and its accuracy. Klein does it again!

It was easy to use and understand and sure came in handy. I suspected a leak but was unable to purchase this item at several local hardware stores. They were completely sold out. So I ordered it from Amazon and got it the next day. Now I know i need to repair my floor in my Dining Room. Great Item.
