I bought this product to test the moisture level on a fence I wanted to stain. It was a great price and served the purpose well. Although there are no instructions, it was easy to find a quick instruction on YouTube. It is very simple to use. The unit comes with protective sleeves on the pins, which I removed, but saved and replaced for storage. A battery is also included so you are ready to go.

Useful - but qualitative not quantitative. - will pick up damp areas, do not beleive the numbers are absolute percentages - it is a scouting tool - found it useful in an old property in a Hurricane zone.

Moving recently to Florida with all the rain we get down here I actually wanted a tool that I could check potential moisture problems with. This moisture meter performed very well and thankfully eased any concerns I may have had.

We had a hurricane come through and I had some water issues, I bought this device and found it so helpful to pin point the moisture levels and severity. I had to have a water remediation company come out, their numbers matched mine using this device so it gave me comfort on reliability.

When I first received my package all that was in it was the battery so that kind fo threw me off. After talking to customer service they resent one and it got here the next day. Nothing fancy but it works as intended to get a rough estimate of the moisture in not only wood but also concrete and drywall. It came with 2 extra pins and a battery. Not bad for the price of a moisture meter.

Fits well in hand, controls easy to access with good size display. Bright backlight very helpful is sun or shady light.
