    Excellent replacement for American Standard #ASD-1250 1 -1/4 HP splash guard. Original that came with disposal was rigid from the start and curled up within weeks. This is a great upgrade, fits snugly, drains well & food waste passes easily through the flaps.

    The garbage disposal is a dirty place. Even when it is scrubbed clean the splash guard gets gross and worn. I put the old one through the dishwasher to try to clean it, but it was still kind of discolored. I was happy to find these online and very affordable. They fit perfectly and look like new

    It fit well and looked good. However the opening when relaxed, didn't allow water to drain as well, and I know garbage disposals last longer when they have enough water to spin the debris with to chop it up-the motor will last longer.

    What I did was I took a pair of scissors and for the 4 parts of the rubber that hang lowest when installed, I cut off about 1/8" of rubber (past the little reverse-embossed dot) from the lower hanging pieces (4 of them total). This made the opening wider in the center and allowed more water to drain. My Moen garbage disposal with the original splash guard that had a wider hole originally, just gave up (or a knife cut the rubber without us knowing). This replacement worked well, but I just had to modify the product to make it drain better. For that, 4 stars not 5, because I had to modify it to make it work right.

    For the fit of the new splash guard, it fit well, but I measured first to make sure it worked. Pushed it down until I felt it pop into place and it's good.

    Some things can't be unseen once you've seen it. Such is the case when you look at the underside of the garbage disposal gasket. So gross to try to clean but it never gets totally clean. I've opted for just replacing them once a year. This gasket worked well.
