The only other downside is that it looks like it retains water spots/stains that appear after splashing dries. The material is very soft, so it seems the water may be soaking in a bit, leaving water marks behind. Tried washing them off but it looked like it had little effect.
Mat replaced two separate soap dishes next to faucet, and looks better than before. Had just enough space for soap dispenser and sponge, which was good enough - and encouraged us to get rid of extra stuff that collected there.
