Dark brown long lasting stain.

I bought this same brand and color wood stain for all of the wood molding in the house and for the ceiling wood beams when we remodeled our house 8 years ago. The color has lasted and it still looks beautiful. Bought it again because we are te painting the inside of the house and we are going to paint the molding and beams once again. I love this product and totally recommend it. I am not being paid for this review.

Was staining wood rounds. Color came out as expected. Drying time was less than 15 mins. The finish and quality were good. It gave good coverage with 1 coat but I went ahead with a 2nd coat. It was easy to use.

more charcoal grey than black

It's more charcoal grey than black, but I knew this going in and prepped my piece with two coats of block-printing ink diluted with water (you can also use india ink). Two coats of true black stain on top of that resulted in about as jet-black a stain as I could ever hope to accomplish. Looks like shoe polish (hey, that gives me an idea!)

This product did its job it just wasn't big enough. I liked this product easy to use and simple to apply. My wood benches look GREAT!!!!!!I will be reordering this item.

This is a solid stain that I have been using for many years. Sure there are better quality products out there for more money but for my needs -- as a garage woodworker -- this has always fit the bill. I was trying to match a stained table top that I built many years ago however the local orange box store no longer carries this brand. Amazon had it and a similar price. Lot of color options as well these days. Solvent based so I always use outside or in a well ventilated area.

Used a few cans of this to stain an old picnic table. The table had been stained in the past. I sanded what was left of it off the top side but not the bottom. It coated the entire table evenly. It is dark black, which is exactly what I wanted. Will buy more for future projects.

The finish is perfect, it was soooo easy to apply, dry time was fast. When it came in the mail I was scared that it would bust open but it was clamped and secured great packaging!

The directions say to wipe when done. It should have said to wipe it all off. I had left too much on which would have caused problems after a top coat. It was tacky without the top coat. I called Minwax and the helpful customer service rep said to take off the excess with mineral spirits and wait 24 hours. Did not have to restain! Beautiful with top coat!
