Easy to fill and not messy!! think it is helpful to have a slightly damp paper towel handy to wipe off the syringe after you fill it with paint prior to filling up the paint apparatus. One syringe full is enough paint. Now pop on the brush head and start turning until you see a tiny bead of paint on your brush head and get to work touching up. I did refill the barrel. Getting the barrel knob to turn in the opposite direction was tricky. I felt like it would not turn; like I was going to break it, but I used a paper towel for grip and applied steady even pressure being careful to cause a twist in the tube. I heard a click and finally I was bringing the inside stick down. Lots and lots of turning before I could fill it again. After I cleaned the brush head, I stored mine in a plastic baggy and am hoping it’ll be good for the next round of touch up painting. It works wonderfully, just be methodical and keep everything clean as you go!! Good luck peeps!
