The top shelf is somewhat difficult to reach, and trying to grab a sweater from the middle of the stack always led to an avalanche of sweaters. Same with the jeans. I was so over it, and looked into other options.
These work well and fit perfectly. My only complaints would be that they really don’t hold very much, and they don’t “slide” very well. I’ll try to upload a video soon, but basically when I try to slide a drawer open, it causes all of the stacked bins to lean or fall unless I hold the bin above the one I’m trying to open.
To give you an idea of size, I can fit about 4 pairs of jeans in one drawer, but the pair on top sometimes catches on the drawer stacked above. Not a huge problem though, and this definitely looks much better than it did before.
I decided to relocate my sweaters. These drawers would not hold more than two or three if you’re stacking on top.
I use the drawers in the middle for accessories that change with the seasons. So, for winter, I had gloves, beanies, and other warmer accessories that were easy to grab when picking out my clothes for the day. Now that it’s getting warmer, I’ll be repurposing those drawers.
In all honesty, I’m not sure I could’ve done too much better with any other product, so I am happy with my purchase. I just wish the bins looked a bit more aesthetically pleasing, and that they opened and closed easier. Frankly, unless you own your home and can afford something like a California Closets system, these stackable bins are probably going to be one of the best solutions out there for this kind of closet organization.
