5.0 out of 5 stars Quiet, fast, adjustable, easy installation, great price!

The fill rate depends largely on the water pressure. However, compared to my basic/common fill valve that slows down the flow as it reaches the maximum water volume, the Korky 528 fills quickly and only slows down when it's about the reach the desired water volume. So the Korky 528 fills the same water volume about 5-10 seconds faster than my old valve, and it is also slightly, but noticeably quieter. In addition, it's also priced well, and the easy adjustability is a great bonus feature. Although you may need a wrench to remove your old valve, with the Korky 528, all the necessary parts are included in the package, and no tools are needed for the installation. 5 stars!

I just installed this fill valve so I'm hoping it holds up. it was easy to install. however, the tube that came with it does not fit with the dual flush valve that I have so I had to use my old tube...I think it may fit if I remove the cap off where the tube attaches. but so far this fill valve works great and is a quiet and quick to refill using both flush options...22 and 32 seconds from flush to fill with dual flush

5.0 out of 5 stars Well Designed, Well Made, Inexpensive, Easy to Use

Installed today. Took me about 30 minutes with the wife as my assistant. (Probably only 20 had I been on my own, heh, heh...) This is far better than the one I got at the big orange store eight years ago. I will be getting a second one for the other bathroom this next payday. Works perfectly, no leaks, very quiet, fills pretty quickly. This is a good product. It is also popular, so you can find a lot of anecdotal information and even videos online if you are worried about doing this yourself. I replaced mine with a similar kit in 2008 when I installed a new wax ring and seat when we bought this house. It always had this drip I could hear late at night. I was sure we had a leak under the house. Nope. It was that cheap valve, and it only got worse over time. Recently it simply started running non-stop. The Korky 528 was easier to install and works better out of the box. The price is also very reasonable. If you need to do this and are worried about it being difficult or messy, it is neither. You *will* have water to blot up afterwards. You *will* come to one of the last instructions and have a few "HUH?" moments. I would simply read the instructions and look at that one illustration that shows all the different types of lines to connect to, and work out in your head exactly which hose type is coming up from your floor or wall and carefully look at the illustration to see which parts you need to use. I have braided stainless steel over flexible hose and did not have to use a few parts. Older fixtures that use that steel gooseneck lamp-type of hose and hand bend pipes will need the extra parts. If you are not sure, do this in the middle of a week day and you can call them for help, I think. Also, you can watch videos.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love the valve, flapper needs sealant
Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2024
Replaced same kind after 8 yrs service. Old began a slow "run-on" after it should have stopped. It may have been coerced by their deteriorating flapper? Still it had a long life.

This replacement flapper didn't seat much better so I bought a better flapper from fluidmaster that "almost" solved the problem and brought it down to a nearly invisible leak but 24 hrs later the tank was nearly empty. Not sure why but I've never had this issue before in my lifetime and I'm pushing 70 so I've seen a couple toilets in my day.

Research says a bit of plumbers silicone sealer around the rim where the flapper sits will fix this. May fix the korky too which I'm keeping as a spare.

The tank isn't draining to the bottom so the seal is good. Opening is clear and clean so maybe in the 24 yrs of use it's worn down from use? Don't think so but other than a hairline crack I'm outta ideas.

The valve mechanism is the easiest to install, replace or adjust out of all I've ever used. Fairly quite and quick to fill which is why I bought my second unit. For those reasons alone I'd recommend it but suggest the manufacturer add a tiny pack of sealant rather than me having to go shopping for some like i have to do now. Won't use but a smidgen so its axwaste of time, money and gas. Other units come with it so its not farfetched to think perhaps it might be needed? If so put it in there. If they had it'd be a 5 star review.

If you can see, can think enough to make sense outta graphic how to pictures and have a pair of working hands then you're ready to install one. Of course your shut-off valve is probably stuck open or will leak as soon as you touch it so be prepared for that. Or just shut off your main supply line and don't worry about it.

5.0 out of 5 stars So easy to install

Our toilet began having a high pitched squeal when refilling. With a little googling I found out it was a bad valve on the old fluidmaster fill system. I decided for $10 or so I would just replace the whole thing and saw this on a youtube instructional video. I'm not the handiest guy in the world, but without even needing a tool, I removed the old one and replaced it with this one in maybe ten minutes. It is easily adjustable, super quiet and works like a charm. If I could do it, anyone could do it. Highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Toilet Works Great
Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2024
I can't give a review on the installation, I called the property management company to send out a plumber to repair my toilet. Friday, my toilet started leaking and the tank would take hours to fill. I adjusted the flapper and the basics to my limited plumbing abilities. The Fluidmaster inside it was old and wasn't responding as it used to, so I bought this to replace it. The plumber just installed it, thank goodness for plumbers. The Korky 528 isn't quiet, it has an average level of toilet noise. The Korky 528 filled the toilet and tank quick without leaking. It works well and for the price I've no complaints.
