5.0 out of 5 stars Got all 5, great price
Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2024
Looking through the reviews I figured I’d take a risk and try. Got all 5 and all were in a sealed box, no damage of any kind.

Happy with the price and was able to surprise my son with the game of magic using two of the decks as an intro.

I used to play back in the Alpha days, and a few of the first few generation, but left the game after a few years (wish I still had those cards!) So this was a re-introduction to me as well.

When buying I didn’t realize the “commander” concept was more of a “multiplayer” mode, so we were a little surprised by that, we ended up playing a game of “standard” for the first round just to get used to the mechanics.

That aside, price was good, and everything arrived as expected. I look forward to playing more with him using these very nice decks.

Recieved 4 token triumph decks, sent pictures of the items unopened to customer service and they issued me a return telling me they couldn't replace my items. When my return was processed they charged me the full price of the order as a "restocking fee". No warning that this would happen, feels real scammy. Guess Bezo's is hittin hard times.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT first step into Commander
Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2023
Just started playing commander and these seemed like a good deal. A few online reviews said they're really low power and not great, but if you're just getting started these are a GREAT starting point.

You get FIVE different decks, in different color pairs, with different themes. You get to try out some different playstyles to decide which one speaks to you more before spending money on a more expensive deck to realize it's just not your style. Do you go for flyers and card draw? What about a zombie mill deck with lots of graveyard interaction? Demons forcing your opponents to sacrifice creatures and loose life outside of combat? Or go big with DRAGONS or wide with lots and lots of tiny creature tokens!

These are all great base decks to upgrade as well. I added another ~$50 worth of singles to the Token Triumph deck and brought its power up high enough to hold its own at Friday Night Magic with the other players there - even grabbing a few wins!

If you already know what kind of deck you're looking for, by all means go pick up a stronger precon for a bit more. If you're like I was and wasn't really sure what I wanted or where to start - these are a great place to start!

I bought this under the impression that I was going to get one of each of the five decks which would’ve been perfect as I needed 3 more of the set to have the whole thing and I was going to give the other two as gifts. But now I have five Token Triumph decks and am still missing decks from the set.

5.0 out of 5 stars Received All 5 Decks
Reviewed in the United States on September 27, 2024
Others have had issues with getting multiples of the same deck, but thankfully I received one of each. The decks themselves are fun to play and have stood up to other more expensive precons with no additions. Grave Danger and Token Triumph in particular have won quite a few games. First Flight can also become explosive in late game, once creating over 40 buffed flying Pegasus creature tokens. These decks are both a great start to the commander format and still playable for those who are experienced at it.

Yes I read the reviews, seemed like a 50/50 coin flip. I decided to go risk it because of the price and I could just return then with minimal effort. It paid off, I got one of each set as advertised. -1 star for feeling like the purchase was a gamble.
