This is a cute little axolotl toy with a rubberized outer coating. The body is full of boba-like pearls that give it an interesting, squishy texture, while the head is a rigid plastic shell containing the electronics. When the toy is submerged, two metal electrical contacts on the back make contact and turn on a light, which shines down to illuminate the body. (You can also activate the light by licking a finger and pressing the contacts, although I wouldn't recommend that.)
This is probably best considered as a bath/pool toy, because the outside can get a little grubby as dirt particles stick to the silicone shell. That's less of an issue when used in water since any contamination would rinse right off. We picked up this little buddy intending to use it as an adult fidget toy, and it was a little less great for that purpose - the rigid head makes it less fun to play with outside of its natural water habitat.
