5.0 out of 5 stars It's pretty, it's crystal clear, and it's not a bad piano for kids.

The black keys are hit-or-miss when triggering, you have to hit them dead center with enough force, otherwise this really wouldn't be a bad travel piano for adults. But for kids, they probably won't mind at all. The speaker gives nice volume, honestly can't complain. The speaker part is plastic, hopefully it's not fragile. The sustain and echo functions are just for a bit of fun, they don't actually sound that good, sustain just makes the short notes last a bit longer and echo makes each note repeatedly play if you hold it, at a set tempo after each note is first pressed. The demo songs include Chinese songs, I'm surprised.
Here are my thoughts on the tone patches:
Acoustic Grand Piano - Typical piano sound.
Orchestral Harp - Sounds really nice, resonant.
Church Organ - Sounds more like a synth patch.
Tubular Bell - This is a marimba.
Electric Guitar (Jazz) - Typical guitar sound, short and without pluck.
Violin - Okay solo violin sound, cello at the bottom, with vibrato.
String Ensemble 1 - Very dramatic string orchestra sound, best for holding chords.
Acoustic Guitar (Steel) - Typical guitar sound, a bit more pluck.

4.0 out of 5 stars Review from a musician perspective. I use it to figure out songs, and compose.
Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2020
I thought I would write a review from a different perspective. One of a musician. My mian instrument is bass guitar, but I also tickle the ivories on occasion. The reason I bought this is probably for two reasons. One is that smaller portable instruments are readily available to play, and as I'm sitting at my desk at work, I can take a quick break and play an instrument. The other reason is because I sometimes need to figure out songs quickly writing down chord changes, and I just need an instrument handy that I can play to sound out chords. This serves the latter purpose perfectly, although it takes batteries or power to operate other than that it's perfect. The sounds are good enough, and it even has different tones.

It's also pretty with the colored keys and the texture of the keys are soothing to the touch. So I was delighted when I got it and tested it out.

One major drawback is I was hoping to bring it along to jam sessions and play a little keyboards, but it won't be serving that purpose. I might use it in an acoustic jam putting it in my backpack, but it's too difficult to play. Sometimes the black keys won't play at first, and other times if I'm playing a chord not all the notes sound out. So I find myself just pounding this thing to get it to work. So it would work for a short jam maybe one song, here and there, but I could not play it for hours I would get tired right away and frustrated.

I have yet to run it into an amp but it has an earphone outuput that I can run into an amp which is great too. I can use this in rehearsal to show the musicians some ideas, and things like that. A nice utility to have.
I don't regret buying this, but I think I am going to try another keyboard for the pleasure side of things to jam on during the breaks and keep this one handy for when I want to figure out chords, or play a little for pleasure.
It would be fun to surprise someone by pulling it out of my backpack and playing it at a bar.
Another thing is I was hoping it would fit on my keyboard tray for my desk but it's a little too long. I have been thinking of extending the keyboard tray anyways because it's too narrow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Colorful and sounds impressive.

PT49 Kid's 49-Key Flexible Roll-Up is impressive. The multi-color keyboard undoubtedly will attract our grandsons attention, it has several different features and controllable volume. The first one we received the box was damaged and as this was to be a gift it needed to be returned, which was easily done by the seller,in fact a new one was delivered before we could even return the original.

This was such a win for the kiddos! I got this for my younger kiddo and the roll up drums for the older kid. Now, I know it sounds like only a lunatic would purchase loud instruments for the kids at home but the headphones make it so we don’t have to hear it!! Amazing!! We plug in the kid’s ear-safe headphones and they can jam to their heart’s content. I would buy this as a gift in an instant. They even have cool videos for the kids to really start learning how to play basic songs. Love this.

3.0 out of 5 stars Just a toy
Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2024
I purchased this keyboard twice for two different purposes, and I am pleased with both, but want to give a fair assessment for others. I initially purchased it as a toy for a young child who is exploring Music, and who would most likely ruin a real keyboard at her age. She absolutely loves playing around with this keyboard, and it gives her parents the peace of mind that she won’t ruin a real instrument in her exploration similarly, I use this keyboard in therapy sessions for music therapy. It’s easy to clean, it’s something I don’t worry about my clients ruining it, and it’s visually stimulating. With all of that said, the quality of this keyboard leaves something to be desired. Frequently when I press keys down or when my clients press keys down, it won’t play or respond to touch. This is fairly normal for cheap keyboards, but as a musician, I feel obligated to note that if you press a key, a sound might not happen using this keyboard. If that is important to you, this keyboard is not the best option. Similarly, the sound quality isn’t the best either. I’d rate this positively from the perspective of educational value, entertainment, and fun.
