Best walkie talkie i have EVER used!!!!!! 100%

It works so well!!!!!!!! You can press the ring button and both walkie talkies with ring! And there's different channels to put them on and volume buttons to turn it up and down. There are other settings on there but i haven't played with it Much yet to figure out what they are for. And i walked really far away and i was still able to speak and listen no problem. They are definitely worth the $15 that i paid. I want too sure about them but my 4 year old son loves "calling me" on his pretend phones so i thought this would be cool. these would work even if i was on the opposite side of a walmart. I would recommend these to anyone who wanted a walkie talkie that was not over priced and worked well. And it is just a pictured.

I recently got these walkie talkies for my 5 and 7 year old boys and they love it. The material looks sturdy and finish is very good. The range is great and the sound is very clear. You can lock channel so they can stay in touch while hiking or in playing ground etc it takes 4 AAA batteries and has a torch light. Overall, my kids are loving it.

I have to give 4 Stars instead of 5 Stars because of 4 AAA batteries x 2 = to 8 AAA batteries, it will run out much quicker than AA. The Batteries compartment has heavy spring loaded, not for kid's friendly, needed help from stronger person to change out to fresh batteries. If use Alkaline AAA batteries is the problem and costly too. You find a good quality 1000MAh. (1 Amp Hour) NiMH rechargeable AAA batteries instead of the throw away batteries. 4.8 Volt Times 1 Ampere Per Hour = to 4.8 Watts Per Hour is a lot for class of 4 AAA batteries. This means: Kids will get nearly all day of use per charge, unless they are on transmit way too often. Transmit output power is up to 1/2 watt is nearly, 1 watt off your batteries. The receiver only that draw hardly any power off your batteries. How loud is your volume level for loudness will affected your batteries life too. I say; in heavy use, let say; around, 5 hours, is not bad at all for children will get tired of it. The built-in mic has noise cancel to reduced your feed-back by being too close to each others. Talk within 1 inch into the mic for best copy. Do not talk around, 1 foot away, or you'll have weak audio. For around, 25 bucks for 2 isn't bad at all for several blocks range on FM UHF.

I purchased a set of 3 these a few years ago originally for my boys to play with around the house. I gave them each one and I had the other in order to monitor anyone else that may have decided to talk to them through the channel. (Especially after reading reviews of parents hearing someone talking to their children on them…so just beware! We haven’t encountered this yet! But I hated for them to not be able to enjoy things like this because of creepers so I figured I would just make sure I also had one to monitor and ensure their safety as well as interact with them if needed.) Once again we have not encountered this yet but I am not naive to think it cannot happen! With that being said we took them with us to the mountains on a multi-family vacation and when we reached areas in Cades Cove with no phone reception we were able to communicate with the vehicles we were traveling with! It was so much fun…and the range was impressive! I purchased this set as a gift for Christmas because we love ours!

Fine for kids

I purchased 3 sets of these for Christmas presents so each kid had their own pair. They work interchangeably, come in fun colors and the reception is fine. They can be difficult to turn on/off which is why I rated them as only okay. They tend to drain batteries quickly which diminishes the fun factor. Overall they are a fun item to keep the kids busy that is slightly better than the toy versions you find. They served my purpose fine. If you are looking for something to take camping, where you might need to rely on them for personal safety, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

I purchased these as a Christmas present for my 9 year old Nephew. He had another less expensive set on his wishlist, but I opted to spend a couple dollars more for a product that looked as though it was better quality and was something that he might not outgrow as quickly (due to kiddie design/coloring). The walkies themselves looked more expensive than they were and I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the quality. These walkies do not include batteries, but no biggie. The packaging was admittedly a little lackluster, lacking bright colors that scream "look at me, I'm so cool!" so my Nephew wasn't too excited about the walkies upon opening them...that is, until he began to play with them. Then it was all like "look at the screen...cool!!" because the screen lights up blue and "cool, it makes noises. I didn't know it could do that!" because one walkie can "call" the other. There was a lot of giggling, smiling, and even a secret mission with his older brother while the adults were busy cleaning up after opening gifts. At the end of the day, my Nephew loved his new walkie talkie set and even told me "I think I like this set better than I would have liked the other set". With the walkies being all black, I also feel as though these walkies are something that my Nephew will continue to enjoy and feel comfortable using (if he wishes) throughout his tween/teen years without embarrassment. I would purchase this set again in a heartbeat!

I originally gave this one star because my first set stopped working so quickly, but after writing a review I was contacted by phone. The woman on the phone was apologetic, tried to help troubleshoot, and when that didn't work she offered without me asking to send me a new set free of charge! My son now has a new set that he is enjoying, it has only been a couple days but I am hoping the first set was just s fluke. They obviously care about giving customers a quality product!

Batteries keep disconnecting

Any little bump makes the batteries come out of place and stops working. I put a piece of paper inside the battery case to put pressure to keep it from falling out. Works ok....

Other than that. Walkies are cool to use.
