5.0 out of 5 stars i love this clay for slime and making sculptures.

i got it originally for slime but then feeling it i realized i like it a lot more for crafts, its great clay but the quantity in each box is rather small, it would be great if it could be bought in bulk or at least in bigger boxes. love the texture of the foam clay and it drys really well.

I noticed that the seller doesn’t think this would be the the best and it needs a kiln but I think it is just fine air dried and when I got the twinkle in my mind to use it I kind of figured things out as I went and I have made so many things so if you’re like me I like clay things but I don’t like how it feels weird, I don’t have a kiln and, I don’t like how heavy it is. Now here’s why I like it as a clay and how it dries and good techniques to use for it. It’s a super soft and smooth clay almost like flower petals clay but softer .It is moist most times but it helps you know how long it's gonna take to dry if your having a hard time with making petals or other more delicat pieces than you want the clay to be drier if the clay is getting tuff add lotion. wet=soft and unless you dump a whole thing of lotion in it will dry so don’t be worried. If your project is going bad it’s not too late you can rip it up and add some lotion mix it and it should go back to the beginning and if you think it's too late don't be afraid to try if in at least the first day if the outside hardens the inside could still be wet.
This clay is light and soft and it can make tiny peices with no sweat but bigger is always scarier without an inner core whether it is foam balls, tin foil, or wire because spoiler alert I messed up my first big project. I watched my piece melt before I knew I could just reuse it and yeah to be honest if you want to use a doll figure or whatever instead of making your own frame and or you made a frame that you can’t get it to stick to, take a chunk of clay and a decent amount of lotion mixed to a sticky paste (sorry it’s gonna stick to your hand have a chunk of regular clay close by). Stick this almost glue-like substance all over it then clean your hand with the regular clay and stick it on. This is one of the biggest perks of this clay it sticks to it’s self like no clay I’ve ever seen almost like puddy you don’t have to do much. However smoothing can be tricky in the beginning it's not too hard to get the hang of. You smooth it with your finger as lightly as you can, because it's soft but I mean it says to mold it back in shape if you accidentally mishape it so don’t be discouraged
Also I enjoy how it dries it doesn’t get hard it gets firm. It feels like a smooth foam ball the Piece I messed up on I ended up tearing it up to see the inside and it sounded and looked like foam ball material ( the outside never does btw) and it’s a bit bouncy and somewhat flexible and lightly pliable (you can lightly pinch and poke it) you can easily brake it by tearing with force or sharp objects after it dries other than that it’s perfect for jewelry and fun for any other projects I still need to paint it but I used a wire figure of a guy hunting with a spear and I used my trick of super wet clay all over it and than stuck the rest to it and it worked
Lasty be patient and remember it basically already feels like a caly slime with just a lot of clay. If your not having fun cause your piece isn’t turning out how you want take a break and just play with it.

So soft! Just add the proportion you like to your slime. Add color if desired. Best clay I have used for this. Btw, some clays won't work for butter slime at all! I think they are plastic based because I had some and it didn't mix in properly. Made the slime leathery! This mixes easily and creates a great texture.

And it works perfectly for that. I only use a tiny bit of glue and borax developer. Like a few tbs and more clay. About a 20%~ 80% glue to clay ratio and it turns out so fluffy and perfect.

It also accepts dye well. Just be aware if it is finished and you decide to add more color when done it does get sticky. Just add a bit more activator. Like I dip my finger in the borax and water and it gets unsticky right away.

Great for making slime. Adding this to it makes it so buttery soft. Using it alone is also great because it’s easily moldable, maybe too soft for some projects but it’s worked great for me. It air dries and if it starts to harden and you don’t want it to, you can add a little water to it to bring back the elasticity and softness. It’s easy to clean up from and leaves no residue on my hands.

It is nice to play with, has a scent, but nothing too strong. It’s fun to play with, but does dry out even in a plastic bag.
