I was looking for a indoor mini drone to kill some time when at home. This mini drone is really easy to use lightweight and has really nice performance for the price and size. It's maneuverability is great. It has 3 speeds for how fast it can maneuver. Has auto land and takeoff with a press of a button. Also has spare blades with removal tool , 3 batteries with charger and screwdriver. Its super fun I really recommend it if you are planing to get one.

5.0 out of 5 stars So much fun!

I had never alone a drone before and I saw a video that recommended this model as a great starting point to learn the controls the basics of drone flight. This little thing is so much fun to fly around, it is quick and responsive and so easy to fly. I have crashed it many times, at no fault of the drone, and never had an issue or concern with it. It is so much fun that I promptly bought another one the next day so that my 20 year old son and I can fly together and terrorize the dog and mom. We fly around the house and dog fight in the air and race with each other. The control is so intuitive and easy, it is very responsive and fast, the fact that it comes with three batteries is amazing. You can fly as long as you want, by charging two batteries at a time and swapping the battery in the drone is out a new battery there is always a new battery charged and ready to go. It is great for flying indoors with little to no concern about hurting anything or anyone. We have flown them outside as well but the fact that they are so small make them difficult to see once they get more than 60 or so feet away. That being said I just purchased a Holy Stone HS360s for flying outside and that drone is very fun and easy to fly as well. I couldn't recommend this little HS210 more, for anyone who is looking to get into the drone hobby.

 ORIGINAL REVIEW:

Was so excited to get this drone for my kids, good reviews, extra batteries (their micro drones gave only a couple minutes of fun before they died), good protection for the propellers (unguarded propellers on micros were constantly getting damaged and they had gone through all the extras that came with them w/no way apparently to get new ones). But out of the box the remote had an issue. Right joystick is sticky when you move it to the right. And by "sticky" I mean it gets stuck. I tried to work around it, but it's simply a no-go for something brand new. It goes zooming off in the direction that it is stuck and crashes. So sad to have the excitement of my kids ramping up and then come crashing down along with the drone. This one's heading back, though (since it came so fast and is relatively cheap) I'll probably try another one and hope for a good remote. Statistically speaking I shouldn't get a messed up remote twice in a row, right??

****** EDIT: (2nd drone) *******

So I did get a 2nd drone and can now give a slightly more informative review. I changed my rating to reflect my 2nd experience, though I think it's only fair to leave a quality control warning. My 2nd drone works fine, the remote isn't sticky and it does everything it is supposed to do. Having 3 batteries is great since they do run out relatively quickly (but not crazy fast), but the battery changing process is what makes this (to me) just a 4-star product. I know it's a micro drone so everything is small, but it's kinda hard to get the battery connector off of this thing. Might be in part because I have really big hands, but by design it is pretty hard to reach by where it is placed and the fact that the wires get in the way. The easiest way to do it would be to pull by the wires, but that goes against everything I was ever taught about unplugging things. And because you have to change batteries relatively frequently with this or any micro drone, this is a sore spot for me. Like I literally dread changing the batteries. Small-handed people may not have this issue, but it's very real for me.

Batteries aside, it's a fun little toy, easy to fly and the propeller guards do wonders - I have no doubt that they have kept this thing alive much longer than any other drones without guards since propeller damage is the #1 killer of drones. I think this is a great gift for kids or for bigger people wanting to learn how to wreck a drone without great financial impact.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and easy, but maybe not for cats (and definitely not outdoors)
Reviewed in the United States on July 29, 2022
I wanted to see if my cats and foster kittens might be interested in a flying toy. I wanted something relatively cheap so if it got pounced on I wouldn't upset at the cost. The first one I got was obviously used and broken, Amazon replaced it, and the second was in perfect shape.

The good news is there's little risk of it getting pounced on. The cats are interested in this, but only at a distance. When it flies close to them they scramble where I was expecting them to get a case of the wiggle butts.

I can see where some people damage these on the first flight. Having experience with RC airplanes and big drones I skipped reading the owners' manual (big mistake). I hit the takeoff button and it zipped up rather quickly, hit a cabinet and then went crazy fighting artificially induced pitch sticking itself to the cabinet door. If you're not ready for it the way it zips up will absolutely startle and hit something if you're not in a clear space.

I also accidentally discovered the relative direction mode (in this mode which way the stick makes it go is relative to you, so that if you rotate with the left stick until the drone is facing the opposite way, pushing the right stick to the right will still make the drone go to your right right instead of left). This was a little confusing for me having prior RC experience. Again, reading the manual would have been smart on my part.

Lastly is a tip about the reviews talking about it just drifting away outdoors. The controller has an IR panel on the front (facing away from the pilot). For those that don't know, IR is light based. I'm pretty sure this is how the drone knows which way it is facing for relative direction mode, but it's quite likely it's used for other purposes, including actual flight control instead of RF. This means that when it's in direct sunlight, the IR receiver on the drone itself will get "jammed" by the sunlight and will be unable to receive input from the controller.

This is definitely an indoor only drone, but at a minimum if you're going to do it outdoors, do it at night and keep it really close to you. Without walls for the IR light to reflect off of, the range will be much lower outdoors, so you risk it flying away at night too.

It wouldn't be a fair review if I didn't also list one big con. It comes with blue & black fans, which would be great, however the fans aren't actually color coded. The fans spin in different directions depending on their location on the drone. Normally I would expect them to be color coded along the lines of "black = clockwise blue = counterclockwise", however this isn't the case. If you break a blade, you will need to carefully look at the fan blades to ensure the broken ones you are replacing match the new ones. Putting a clockwise in a counterclockwise or vice versa the drone will not be flyable and possibly fly around erratically hitting people or objects in the room (causing further damage). OTOH if you're feeling like mixing it up you could swap a blue for a black or such for visual effect.

Overall it's a good little drone. Read the instructions, know how to handle it before you're first flight, don't run into things and I would imagine this will last quite a while

UPDATE: Been flying it around my house for a few weeks now. People who complain about it breaking are misusing it IMO. I've had a couple of small crashes. It seems fairly durable, no damage from falls from five feet up onto carpet, or accidentally tapping it into a wall. To break it, you would need to go full speed into a wall, which would probably break it. Kids being rough treating it like an RC car will break it. Drones aren't RC cars and are more fragile.
