perfect toy with un-toy-like strings

My 2 y-o loves music, so I wanted to get her her first guitar for her birthday. It's a toy to be sure, but I wanted one as un-toy-like as possible and this was exactly what I hoped for. She will strum and pluck actual guitar strings and not rubber bands or lanyards, but it's also not something we need to feel precious about. she can drop it or bang it against the wall as she walks around with it all she likes. the plastic body is sturdy.

I was very pleased with the quality and the price point - this was exactly what I was hoping for.

Just opened it today and am already so disappointed. Definitely returning it. The strings were all loose. There are little knobs on the back that act as if they’re suppose to tighten the strings. But as soon as my son started strumming on it they come loose again. One of them won’t even tighten. Waste of money. I understand if it’s not suppose to be a real guitar but you still expect the strings to at least be tight enough to play on.

Purchased this for my four year old son for Christmas. It is the perfect size for him. It sounds okay, but the knobs that tighten the strings aren't very good and the strings become loose after strumming for just a few minutes. It's frustrating for my kid to have to stop and tighten the strings every few minutes. It is also not super well-constructed. My son dropped it from a short distance onto the living room floor, and the front piece of the guitar broke away from the back and we could not snap it back together. It's definitely my son's bad for dropping it, but I would not have expected it to break like that from a very short fall.

My toddler loves it!

We bought this for my 17 month old daughter, so she'd stop grabbing guitar strings while mom, dad, and her older sister are playing. She loves strumming it and singing. This IS NOT A REAL GUITAR and will not tune like one, but it's a fun toy and toddlers will like it. She's a toddler so she's thrown it, dropped it, and stood on it and it's still fine. If you have a toddler in a musically inclined household this is a must.
