    Final review-

I am pleased to say that I have contacted customer care, and they have responded with great timing and attention to my concerns.

My first concerns was the front hub giving off rubbing sounds intermittently , for which I provided video.
I forwarded them recorded data(scooter mobile app) for my battery capacity and length of trips.

My clip came undone from the base. These could happen on any well made item.

They did not hesitate and have shipped a replacement scooter. I could not be more pleased with the ease in which we found a working resolution. Isn’t that a part of what every after purchase customer care should contain.

Great work from the customer care team at iScooter!

    To recap:
I was pleased with the speeds the scooter is able to reach.
The portability is excellent, I’m able to commute on train and bus with ease.

I have no doubt that I get more miles between charges with the replacement scooter.
Side note, the headlamp and tail light are powerful and safe

Any hill that I’ve encountered have been no challenged .

The iScooter 1S is worth your money for it’s price point

    I am 3 days in.

    - Battery life so far, throughout 3 full charges have averaged 9 miles, on mostly smooth even surfaces,
mostly flat terrain, and the hill slopes no greater than 15 degrees.

    - I am so far really frustrated that I cannot get this scooter to go past 15 mph.
I have the app and it is properly paired with the scooter. No amount of configuring has approached 16 mph in ideal conditions.

    - To be fair, I have not yet contacted the customer care contacts at iScooter.
They may have a fix and I will allow for this, however I remain skeptical that they will help extend the range in miles that the battery pack has shown to supply on a full charge and near ideal conditions.

    ] upon further trials

-Now more than 6 days in. (July 26)

I have now achieved speeds surpassing 20mph, really decent , and necessary for my city commute as I transfer to and from public transportation.

The folding and unfolding of the scooter is now painless , pops open and snaps closed smoothly.

Battery life is still an issue as I holdout hope that I can get more than 9 miles per full charge.
This is how much I’ve been averaging with typical speeds of 15 mph, mostly smooth and level terrain.
    I weigh only 184.
(I have not reached out to the vendor so far)
In case Ii would have to return this item, should the battery capacity not extend itself, I have started the automated return process and Idid not encounter any uncomfortable hurdle in doing this. This is always good for the consumer, thanks Amazon.

    Updates coming.

Pros: compact, light weight, easy to learn, smooth.
Cons: bad app locking software, short handle bars, ineffective front lamp, unadjustable handle bar height.
Features: cruise control, dual rear suspension, regen brakes, anti puncture wheels, 350w motor.

It's been a month now with this scooter and I have got to say that there is much more positives than negatives. I keep it in my car and it takes up about one passenger's worth of space. There are times where riding a scooter makes much more sense than driving. Going to my local convenience store and coming back uses up about one out of the five bars of battery capacity. The trip usually takes approximately 15 minutes with time in the store included. It's very sleek and the learning curve was fast. After learning how to use the regen brakes properly, I always cruise with cruise control on and regen brakes when necessary. I have gone approximately 19mph on this scooter but I usually ride at 15 mph or slower for better battery life and more miles. I suggest adding additional headlights to this scooter as the manufactured light is not as strong as I would like. The motor was able to get up very steep hills, but it was very slow and lacked power. This is the biggest limitation of this scooter, but with the price of the scooter being so low, it being able to get up that steep hill was a miracle in itself. I have no regrets purchasing this scooter as this entry level scooter has gotten me extremely fascinated with electric scooters in general.

I bought this scooter to commute to work. At first, everything seemed fine. I am already a very proficient electric scooter rider as someone living in an area where the sidewalks always have rentable scooters, and I finally took the dive to buy one for myself since I use them so much.

However, less than a week after usage, the clip used to hold the scooter in the "folded" position has broken in a way that would no longer allow the scooter to open. At the advice of another reviwer who had the same problem, I had to unscrew the entire latch and as she said, it stripped the screw completely and now I can no longer use it. Fine, not a big deal. Fast forward only two days later, there's a loud rattling noise whenever I am riding now. I checked and could not find the source of the rattling. This continued for about another day or two, before one day on a main road the brakes completely failed to respond, causing me to be thrown off onto the road. I'm very lucky I was wearing a helmet and was riding in the lane close to the sidewalk, but still sustained substantial injuries to my arms, legs, and feet and caused the cars behind me to swerve dangerously into the other lane. It was a terrifying experience, and why I cannot in good faith recommend this scooter to anyone.

However, if you're still considering this scooter, here are my general observations about it:

    Pros:
    - Fast charging: Gets from 2 to 5 bars in a few hours.
    - Has two modes: "D" that caps out at 9mph and "S" that caps out at 19mph. D is great for small roads to manage your top speed while S is great for keeping up with cars on the street, and changing modes is easy with double-pressing the button on the display.
    - Display is easy to read: It shows you your speed, mode, headlight on/off state, and battery (5 bars total).
    - Has a manual bell that is decently loud.
    - Is easy to fold and carry, before the latch breaks on you.

    Neutral:
    - Super lightweight. It's relatively easy for me to pick up even as a 5'3" 125lbs woman. However, it does mean you have less control on the road since it's so light it will bounce much more violently over any bumps or cracks on the road.
    - Front light. It's there, but it's pretty weak and most importantly doesnt shed enough light on the ground in front of you to see bumps and obstacles at night (which, as previously mentioned, is significantly more dangerous on this scooter due to how lightweight it is) You may want to get an additional, more powerful light to clip onto the front.
    - Has a cruise mode: After you depress the accelerator for a certain amount of time, there is a long but soft beep and your scooter will be locked at the max acceleration for the mode you're going. It can be nice, but it's totally unpredictable, and I didn't even see it mentioned in the manual anywhere so it was incredibly jarring the first few times I released the accelerator to slow down and I didn't.
    - Pretty reactive breaks: You can brake from 19mph to 0mph pretty fast if you need to for emergencies, but it also means if you tap on the breaks even slightly to slow down, you're going to experience being jerked backwards every time you touch the breaks. It's not a dealbreaker, but certainly makes the riding experience much less comfortable.

    Cons:
    - Aforementioned issues of breakage and smajor safety liabilities that start popping up after only a few weeks of proper usage (by an experienced user!).
    - Very small standing space: I wear women's size 7/8 shoes and I can't fit both feet diagonally on the board, one always is half propped up on the back wheel cover.
    - Customer support is nonexistent. I called them multiple times to no response, and messaged with an Amazon representative that said he would reach out and they'd get back to me within 24-48 hours. That hasn't happened at all. I plan on returning the scooter directly through Amazon but very disappointed that the company didn't even have the courtesy to pick up or respond to my calls and emails.
