-Pistol grip remote – This is the same type of remote used with almost all RC cars. My kids have RC cars and were able to figure out how to drive this boat immediately. The remote has a nice, quality weight to it and a heavy bottom so it can stand up on its own without tipping over. A lot of other boats have the older variety remote and my kids don’t seem to get that as quickly which means they’re always turning the wrong way.
-High and Low Speed – Gotta have it! There’s a button on the remote that toggles between high and low speed, and this is so crucial for beginners. You don’t want to hand this to someone who’s never driven an RC and they go full throttle into the beach rocks. Low speed helps them get a feel for turning and controlling.
-Water-cooled motor – Keeps it from overheating.
-Fairly large battery – For this size boat, the 1200Mah battery keeps it going for around 15-20min, and they also provide a second battery included.
-Silicone Safety Nose – There’s a silicone cap that goes over the front nose and you’ll probably think, “What’s this for?” But when you crash it head first into the bank a few times you’ll understand. I’m sure the manufacturers had received a lot of customer service inquiries regarding broken noses, so they included this soft cover that I think will probably make the boat last a lot longer.
-LED lights – There’s a couple red lights on the back, like tail-lights, and a blue light on each side. You can turn them on and off via the remote. Might be fun to try at night.
-Battery warning buzzer – Let’s you know it’s time to come in to shore so you don’t have to swim out and retrieve it after it runs out of battery.
Overall, a great boat, well-made and fun to drive, and a great price.
