Great look but boat didn't work. (Updates) The seller sent a replacement and I had the same issue but the. I threw the boat on the pool and it worked perfectly. It looks like it has to be on the water to function. Very satisfied with the purchase and the seller now.

Detail of the head looks amazing - especially the eyes. A little small, but that’s ok. The boat part seemed decent, but was concerned that there was no way to grease the stuff boxes (they must be well sealed, tho - did not see any water intrusion after one use). The remote is not proportional, and there is no way to trim the vessel. More annoying was that while one shaft ran nice and quiet the other was quite noisy - kinda ruined the surprise effect.

That all said, why I can’t recommend this product:

Trying to charge the batteries I had a hard time finding a USB adapter that the charger fit into. When I finally did, and tried to unplug it, the USB shield broke off.

Then, after the first ‘voyage’ (successful other than the above), when I removed the ‘head’ from the ‘boat’, the latch from the battery compartment broke off, rendering the boat useless.

I had so much hope for this product, but unfortunately I will have to return this item (or toss it in the trash).

Oh, the duck came back the very next day, oh ya, the duck came back, we thought he was a goner but the duck came back, he just couldn’t stay away … until he met the RC ALLIGATOR! Intensely satisfying, easy to operate, tons of fun. And may the ducks find happiness someplace other than in our pool.

Looks realistic. Propellers are not very strong and unbalanced so it doesn't travel straight easily.

got this for my 7 yr old for bday gift along with an actual remote controlled speed boat.
first, this thing is kinda cool. We got it to scare guests that are floating in the lake. I think it will do well for that!
for a toy tho, it's really slow in the water and not really "controllable" as it only has two props and no rudder. it should be slow, of course and it's quiet. I'm just saying this is more of an adult gag-type of toy than something your kid is going to want to spend hours playing with.
Aside: we got a really nice $40 remote controlled speed boat and they love that. i was wondering if this gator thing would kill two birds with one stone: boat + gator, but really this thing is pretty slow in the water (which again, is it's point, but slow and boring for kids). It's also really hard to separate the boat from the gator. You basically just pry the boat from the attached gator head and hope the plastic doesn't snap!

This little alligator is the best fun for a Saturday out by the pool! It’s remote controlled, so you can chase your kids around the pool without getting soaked! My kids played “Marco polo-alligator style” and had a tremendous time! It’s durable, well-made and I love that the battery doesn’t have to be charged for hours to get only 30 minutes of play time. The only thing is, it only works in water and so it won’t work on the floor or carpet. Great way to stir up laughs!

I have to say, I really love this toy! I gave it to my nephew, who loves anything alligator, and WOW was it fun!! We have a little mini lake near my house. It is more like a city filled lake and pretty small. They drain it every winter and fill every summer lol. It is still filled at the moment, so we went there. This remote control alligator is super cool! My nephew and I had a wonderful time playing with it! We even caught the eyes of the other neighbor kids and soon we had a whole alligator party happening, haha. He had so much fun with his new toy and new friends! I definitely recommend this toy! You will be loved for it! It is well made, comes in a nicely packaged box and would make a great gift!

I’d say save your money but it’s easy to return and get your money back. I bought this to use while out on my boat. Thought it would be fun but it’s hard to control. The controller doesn’t match with the motors and delays. It feels cheap. I mean I’m sure I could have used it a couple times. The batteries probably would quit. It would take on water and than I’d be out of the window for returns. Not worth the money. Sent it back after using it once.
