This was a huge hit for my niece - who is about to turn 2 - and is very tuned in to music and sounds. I put
batteries in before I gave it to her (3 AA batteries NOT included, y'all!) and I was initially REALLY turned off by how loud it is!! I panicked for a minute when I didn't see volume controls on the yellow plastic part, fearing that this gift would be thrown away by her mom and dad..... but then started breathing again when we found the "plus" and "minus" pictures on the mat that you press for volume control.
She's a maniac, stomping on all the pictures, right now, but I liked that there was a lot of precise pictures she could step on to play different things.... like the white keys vs. the black keys. I also LOVE that it's so easy to fold up and throw under the sofa or in a basket between playing. The material seems very rugged... didn't dirty quickly when my 5 year old daughter ran up and stepped on it with her dirty shoes while we sat outside on the deck. I'm not saying it's waterproof, but that material could definitely be wiped up and take a splash of something during play.
Highly recommend! I wish I'd have gotten it for her sooner! It would've been a fun toy to crawl on for a younger child as well!
