About this item

The DOOM Anthology includes an exclusive SteelBook game case and a 5-inch replica of the BFG with LED lights and a stand. The DOOM Anthology takes players through more than three decades of demon slaying. Wield an arsenal of powerful weapons as you battle demon hordes in six critically acclaimed games: DOOM, DOOM II, DOOM 64, DOOM 3, DOOM (2016), and DOOM Eternal Deluxe Edition.
DOOM: You are one of Earth's toughest marines stationed on Mars when a military experiment opens the gates to hell. The game that pioneered the first-person shooter genre and changed video games forever.
DOOM II: Sends you to Earth, gives players the brutal Super Shotgun to bear against deadlier demons, and makes you face an iconic boss, the Icon of Sin.
DOOM 64: Sends you on a lone crusade to hunt down the Mother of all Demons and stop a renewed demonic invasion. DOOM 64 was enhanced in 2020 with upgraded visuals, native 60 FPS, and additional "Lost Levels" which continue the story.
DOOM 3: In this critically acclaimed action-horror re-telling of the original DOOM, players battle their way through a dimly-lit and terrifying, demon-infested UAC facility on Mars before entering the abyss to battle Hell's mightiest warrior.
DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal Deluxe Edition: Relentless demons, impossibly destructive guns, and fast, fluid movement provide the foundation for intense, push forward first-person combat. In the sequel to DOOM (2016), DOOM Eternal Deluxe Edition, become the Slayer in an epic single-player campaign to conquer demons across dimensions and stop the final destruction of humanity.

What is there to review here? You wouldn't be buying this if you weren't a fan of the series already. The Anthology Collection is cool as hell (pun intended). The replica BFG is small, but detailed, has a display stand, and lights up with that signature green. My only gripe is all the games are via digital code. I'm a collector and advocate for physical media any chance I get. With that being said, even if you own these games like I do, for the price this is still a really cool collection.

What was the point of including a steel Keepcase? Putting 6 games on a single code is asking for trouble, it would have cost more to put the games on 2 or 3 discs, but it could have made this package more special than it is. Not everybody loves DLs.

I have a full length video review because why not but it boils down to this.

    1. No physical media. This comes with an Xbox code (for the Xbox version, not sure about Steam, Switch or PS but I imagine they're all digital).

    2. The Steelbook is neat but it actually doesn't have a spindle to store any discs if you do have physical editions of these games.

    3. It also doesn't come with any other cool collector's items besides the 5" BFG-900 with LED light. A franchise as legendary as Doom deserved to at least have an art book or some posters or something but nope, just the BFG-9000.

The code is for Doom I + II (a recent re-release of Ultimate Doom, with some new content), Doom 3 BFG Edition (remaster of Doom 3 plus Doom 1 and 2 included plus Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil), Doom 64 Remaster, Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal plus The Ancient Gods 1 & 2 DLC.

The only major difference here between this and other Bethesda anthologies is that both Fallout Anthology and Elder Scrolls Anthology included discs for every piece of content. This one has 0 discs.

Whats the point of a hardcase if there are no discs, just download codes. Especially if its meant to be collectable...

The games are a downloadable code, no real surprise there. What baffles me is that the steel book doesn't have an option to put a disc in. It just has the tabs to hold the single sheet with the code.
I think this is pointless, why not use a standard steel book to let people put a doom-related disc in it?
Secondly, the gun is a complete letdown. It's much smaller in person and doesn't look to be very detailed.
