5.0 out of 5 stars Great card
Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2012
It's a decent sized card, I haven't had any problems with it, but I might not use it the same as other people. I have a tablet so all of my movies are on that, I can also stream from my computer so I have no problems with that, I also have an ipod so I don't need to fill my vita with music, because I have that. I have a few game saves, and 6 or so demos. I don't need much else, that's why I got the 4gb card. I thought since you didn't have to buy a game cartridge that digital games would be cheaper but they aren't. Just go to the gamestop website and you can see that a digital copy of a game is way more that the cartridge. So until that comes down I plan on buying physical games. Also read terms and conditions, you never know if you actually own something when you download it. In a recent case with apple it was said that you don't own the music you buy you actually "borrow" it from apple. So I'd rather buy the physical game anyways. It's all depends on the person and what you do. If you want to get a bigger card just to be safe do it, you never know what you might buy. On the other hand if you are like me and have other means to watch/listen to your media, and don't think you will buy games online than get the 4gb card.

On another note, I can't believe some of these people are complaining about the size of the card when you bought it... You can go to the Playstation website and see how big some things are. Do some research before you go buy a card, then complain that its not enough. It's a 4gb card, it also tells you what you can put on it in the description. There are no surprises with this card, you get what you get!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a memory card.

If you're debating sizes, 8GB is the sweet spot if you plan on getting some digital releases. Don't believe the line in the description that says it holds "2-4" Vita games. That's pretty low, actually, based on an average of 2 to 4GB per game, which is very high. I've had a chance to peruse the actual sizes of Vita games available on the Store, and they really range from 1 to 2 GB generally, with a few big ones up above near 3 to 4, but these are rare. There are also some smaller scale games that range around 200 to 500 MB. So realistically, I think the 8GB card could hold around 5 to 7 games, not 2 to 4.

About the card itself, it's a memory card. What's to analyze? It's very very small. Smaller than a penny, really. If your clumsy, you might be worried about losing it, but really if you plan to only get 1 memory card, then putting it in once and not taking it out is a valid solution.

5.0 out of 5 stars Memory Card is good enough for a few games.

Depending on the games you want to play on the Vita, this will be sufficient. If you are looking to play the major games such as Assassin's Creed, Little Big Planet, Madden, Killzone: Liberation, and others like these, 32 GB or 64 GB should be good enough

5.0 out of 5 stars The best option for Vita owners who buy retail games, as opposed to downloading them
Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2013
Provides ample storage space on your Vita, if you're the type of person to buy your games in retail format, as opposed to purchasing them online and downloading them. There is more than enough space on this 4GB card for your game saves, trophies, profiles, etc., and the price is fair (particularly considering the other, more expensive options). Personally, I almost always buy games in physical format, no matter the console, so that I can sell them when I'm done playing them. If you download them, you're stuck with them forever (even if you don't like the game!), with no option to resell and get back most of your money (thereby putting it toward your next game). Long story short... this 4GB card is great!

4.0 out of 5 stars Functional, But Limited by Size and Proprietary Design
Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2024
The 4GB PlayStation Vita Memory Card is a functional accessory that does its job at a reasonable price. However, in hindsight, a larger size would have been more beneficial for storing more games and data. The use of a proprietary chip is a downside, limiting its versatility. While it serves its purpose, future considerations would include larger storage capacity and more universal design.

5.0 out of 5 stars Product as advertised

I got the memory card in a timely matter, it works, I used it so I could hack the vita everything worked.

Only critique, was I think they should use some type of case for the memory card, as I could see myself losing it on accident. As it was just within the receipt print out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for broke people!

Until you can afford a better one, this is a great buy!

I'm unfamiliar with how good it is for DLCs, however with actual "hard copy" games it's great! You have much room to save, even save some pictures too.

If you want your vita pretty much JUST for gaming, this would be a great buy! I have no music and only a few screenshots from the internet (for wallpapers) on my vita, the rest is games (2 games now!). If you're looking to make the vita you're second cellphone, you might wanna opt for more storage. That said, I don't know how much space DLCs take up!

3.0 out of 5 stars Spring for a BIGGER Card!
Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2013
I really hate that Sony always makes you use their proprietary cards for everything they make! I would honestly probably use my PS Vita a lot more if I could use a regular SD card in it, and therefore fit more games in the memory, but I digress slightly.

This card itself does its job perfectly fine, of course. It loads fast, it holds what you want it to hold.
The problem is that its actually pretty tiny.

I have downloaded THREE PlayStation 1 era games from the PlayStation Network, and my card is already basically full. They're mostly kinda long games, I admit (Final Fantasy 7, 9, and Tactics), but I find it ridiculous that I don't even have space to download a DEMO for a Vita game.

I know, the prices are HIGH, much higher than a comparative SD card, but if you plan on using your Vita to download any games (which is a service Sony pushes a little bit), spring for a bigger card or you're going to fill it up way too fast.
