You can honestly look at the legacy of the Nintendo Switch & just how brilliant the console has been for so many gamers young & old. The console has sold well over 130 million copies worldwide & has been a absolute game-changer in regards to how we play in the video game industry, with titles like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom & recent releases such as Princess Peach Showtime. There is just so much you can say about Nintendo & the delights that have came out over the years. But that could also be said with the Mario Party series. There have been 2 smash games for the board game franchise with excellent games over the years with the motion-played Super Mario Party & 2021's Mario Party Superstars, which merged older games and boards with a newer generation of fans. Now it seems we have a new game as sort of a marriage of both the old & the new as one big gaming melody with Nintendo fans celebrating a new game of chance that is great with throwbacks mixed in for a close to perfect passion from Nintendo.
Super Mario Party Jamboree for the Nintendo Switch is a really good reason to get the Nintendo Switch right now. The game mixes both the old with the new as you have 7 boards to play on with classic characters of Mario Party's legacy like Yoshi, Peach & newer characters like Ninji from Super Mario 3D World & Pauline from Super Mario Odyssey in over 100 colorful minigames with fun, delight & entertainment. You have so many wonderful games here like new ones such as Perfect Cut, where 2 VS 2 player can but a giant steak & try to measure up with others, Yoshi's Mountain Race which players go on a simple mountain top race riding on Yoshi's in a peril filled romp & classic games from Mario Party's past coming back like Jump The Gun from the Gamecube era & new renditions of Bumper Balls, Thwomp Dominoes & Snow Brawl as 1 VS 3 snowball fight to the finish.
You also do have some new boards here as well as old ones from the Nintendo 64 era coming back for gamer's to delight here like Mario's Rainbow Castle from the original Mario Party from the N64 & Western Land from Mario Party 2. The new ones are also a joy to play too like the enchanting Rainbow Galleria, which is to Mario Party what Coconut Mall was for Mario Kart, as players scramble to race for deals & gather stars for the superstar finish & the serenely cute Mega Wiggler's Tree Party, where a adorable king-sized Wiggler roams free on the board which can be a sway to the finish with joy, or awaken in anger & can throw you off course to the stars. There are also new modes like Paratroopa Flight School, which harkens as a throwback to the classic underrated Pilotwings series as Mario & friends could literally soar into the air & accomplish missions & gather coins for prizes & Koopathalon & Bowser's Kaboom Squad in which the Switch Online features are bonkers in which as many as 20 players can soak in the fun to play a mini-game marathon of events to reach the top of the mountain A La Fall Guys, and try to take down a giant size Bowser from tearing up the party in many minigames for fun & taking away prizes.
Graphically, he game looks great & the controls are deeply spot on where you can easily measure your way with fun. But there are a couple of disadvantages with the title though. For one, the load times can be slow for some events, but nothing in regards to slowing down the gameplay unlike other companies that have made slowed down games for the Switch recently. Another one is that some games can only be played through motion controls and other ones can be turned to manual controls for traditional Mario Party fans. I do wish there was a better alternative for those that want to play all of the games in one state of play. That means for Rhythm Kitchen & Toad's Item Factory, you need to have the Switch connected to the TV or in tabletop mode only while playing those games. A missed step, but nevertheless were the only ways that you could actually play the original Super Mario Party when it came out in 2018.
When it does come down to Super Mario Party Jamboree, it arguably is one of the best games you can get for the Nintendo Switch. I adore the fun you get from playing so many different ways & with a lot of different boards, minigames & party modes, it is surly a pure delight for any hard core fans of the virtual board game series. I absolutely recommend you get this game for pure family fun. There have been very few original games from Nintendo this year, like Princess Peach Showtime. But at the end, I definitely am glad this one really does work the magic and one of the best party board game experiences you can buy for your wallet.
