PROs: It has rumble so it vibrates when you do things in game. It has motion controls so you can use it like a steering wheel in MarioKart 8 Deluxe. It lights up and you have options of if you want it to be a single consistent color, or multiple colors at once, or to cycle through the colors, or you can turn off the lights (which saves battery life). The Nintendo Switch recognizes it as a Pro Controller, instead of aftermarket. I like that it doesn’t have buttons on the back since I end up pressing those accidentally while holding our other controllers with back buttons.
CONs: the controller doesn’t have a sync button and it had a hard time syncing to the Nintendo Switch at first, BUT.. I managed to get it to connect by using a USB-A to USB-C charging cord. Using the cord, I plugged the controller into the Nintendo Switch dock. On the Switch: Went to Home page > Controllers > Change Grip/Order, then pressed the Home button on the controller to turn it on. It synced right to the Switch. Then, I unplugged the cord from the controller to the dock, and it wirelessly syncs with the dock every time we use it now.
Battery life is decent. If you always use the lights on it, the battery will last for about 25 hours. If you play with the lights off, the battery lasts about 35 hours.
Recently took it on a family vacation with other family members who have a Switch. After multiple people using the controller, 2 people ended up buying one for their Switch. Overall, an excellent controller with a lot of bang for your buck!! Just gotta get it synced up at first (follow the instructions above) and you’re golden.
