4.0 out of 5 stars not a bad starter set

got this for my retro portal, and while i won't use the grips (it would cover the appearance), the rest are good accessories. the screen protectors *are* a 1-shot at applying; if you try to remove it once placed, it will shatter.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a pretty good bundle

I recently got a new playstation portal and I wanted to get some accessories to protect it. It pretty much comes with everything that I need it to get started. I also think that this is a better deal and cheaper than buying everything separately. The only con I have with this bundle is the little charging dock that it comes with. The dock in my opinion, isn't that sturdy, so I decided to buy a different charging dock. Other than that I think that this bundle is a must if you are a new playstation portal owner like me.

What more could you ask for? This case is hard sided, it has a microfiber flap that rests over the Portals screen while inside for extra protection, and a great handle.
But wait, there's more! The screen protector is always an absolute must for all of my handheld devices, and it's included in this bundle. I also love the silicone grip that you can put on the system.
The charging station and thumb grips are just added bonuses.
This set is a one stop shop if you've got a Portal you need to protect.

Everything came in a timely manner I’m happy with quality of product for the most part. I gave it 3 stars because the headphones. Either I don’t understand them or they are not working. Plugged them in multiple times not working, pushed the button on the volume control a bunch nothing. But everything else is good

2.0 out of 5 stars Screen protector defects
Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2024
Both screen protectors had defects (basically a crease that left permanent air bubbles in a small spot in the middle of the screen) that caused them to be unusable so now I had to order more of those. IF you are buying this in part because of them, then I would highly reconsider.

Nice starter protection set with many perks. Everything included fits well on the portal. Screen protector is perfect and the body glove is close to perfect, just a smidge loose around the screen. The charging stand is very nice too and an added bonus. The carrying case is so good. I like the zippy web pocket for cables and whatnot. Very glad to have something to travel with to keep from damaging this thing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Acceptable set

Broadly speaking this set is good but perhaps not great.

On the items individually:
1) Two screen protectors and mini microfiber cloths. Its very nice that there's a set of two since I feel like I suck at applying this. My first attempt the screen protector just refused to settle until it fell a little off-center, then immediately started settling. Had to pry it off and try the second one, which thankfully want fine. On the horizontal the size is totally perfect, on the vertical it's maybe half a millimeter short, which is totally fine. The screen protectors and cloths are the part of this set I'm happiest with.
2) The cover is a very soft, stretchy, rubbery material. Definitely awkward to get on, and at times I was worried I might tear it, but it survived. Pretty intense smell which I assume will dissipate over time. Probably from the stretching, it feels a little loose on the unit, and the part that covers a little bit of the edges of the screen doesn't want to stay straight, it kinda curves away from the screen in the center and will flop off if you brush your finger over that area. Overall the cover gets the job of protecting it done, it's fine, but makes me wonder if maybe a hard shell case that snaps over the back might be a better option?
3) The earbuds are *those* types of earbuds (see the product picture), the kind that you have to press into your ears rather than ones that "hook" into your ears. I much prefer the latter, and these weren't why I got this set. But you, good reader, no doubt know better than me whether or not you'll like these earbuds, because it's a pretty standard type of earbud. Not going to deduct a point for something that's just personal preference...
4) The stick caps are fine if you're worried about wear on your sticks over time, but honestly for me they are a clear downgrade to the default stick surface when it comes to feel. For me they definitely don't "enhance the precision of gaming operations", but they're definitely usable and will help protect from wear.
5) The case is fine; just be aware it is quite large. They erred towards giving you lots of space to store other things rather than a slimmed-down case meant more to just protect the unit. There's no molded space for the sticks or anything, it's just a mesh up top for extra storage.
6) The charging stand unfortunately seems useless to me. On a flat counter-top, I could not get the PS Portal to stand on it for more than 10 seconds at a time without it falling over. There's actually a little note that comes with it emphasizing that it's designed for portability and that you may want to use a bigger base or tape to make it more stable. So you have to get a stand for your charging stand, basically. It's also weirdly difficult to unfold: I unfolded and refolded it twice and each time I was convinced I was going to break it before it came open. On the bright side it comes with a USB-C to USB-A cable, which gives you another option to charge than the USB-C to USB-C cable that comes with the PS portal... but there is still no *actual AC power adapter*, so you do need to get your own or find a USB-A port to plug into either way.

Overall everything in this set is completely fine and I'm happy enough with, besides the charger. If the charger is what's selling you on this set I would look elsewhere. Otherwise I can recommend it.
