5.0 out of 5 stars Well Worth the Money

This thing is sleek! Worked right out of the box like everyone said it would. The backlit buttons are a very nice touch. Even the little Xbox stickers are good quality. Disregard those nit-picky reviews about this controller not fitting in your hand or that it won't work if you're not pointing the controller directly at it (seriously, come on people). If you've made it to the reviews, just buy it already.

5.0 out of 5 stars Media Remote Control
Reviewed in the United States on July 27, 2023
The media could not be loaded.
Because of its small size, it can be held in the palm of my hand without any discomfort, and the arrangement of its buttons has been thoughtfully considered, which enables me to go among its many features with relative ease. During strenuous gaming sessions, the rubberized texture on the back provides an additional level of grip, which helps to minimize unintentional slides. Not only does the color black go well with the rest of my console's design, but it also lends it an air of refined sophistication. Now that I have this remote, I have complete command over all of the programs I use for media and leisure. The remote makes it easy to navigate via the Xbox interface, allowing me to access all of my preferred music applications in addition to streaming sites such as Netflix, Disney+, and YouTube. Because the buttons are so responsive, I can quickly navigate and utilize the play/pause capability without having to reach for the controller. This makes it possible for me to transition between gaming and entertainment without having to do so. It is impossible to stress how helpful it is to have individual buttons for each of the most important tasks. The OneGuide button, in particular, has quickly become my favorite since it gives me rapid access to my TV listings as well as the channels I subscribe to, giving me the impression that I am holding a whole entertainment center in the palm of my hand. In addition, pressing Back and View simultaneously enables seamless multitasking, which improves the overall effectiveness of both my gaming and video consumption experiences.

4.0 out of 5 stars A little too sleek
Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2024
I recently got the Xbox One remote, and while there are some positives, it does come with a few frustrations.

    What I like:

No setup required: As soon as I got the remote, it worked straight out of the box. No hassle, no need to pair or configure anything.

Simple controls: The layout is intuitive, making it easy to navigate through menus and control media.

    What I don't like:

Too sleek: The remote is so sleek that it's actually hard to hold onto. It slips out of my hand far too easily.

Difficult buttons: The up and down buttons are a real pain. Due to the high beveled back, it's hard to press them without the remote flipping out of my hand. I find myself needing to use both hands just to press those buttons, which is pretty inconvenient.

    Overall:
While the remote is sleek and simple to use, the design flaws, especially with handling, make it hard to enjoy without constant frustration. That said, if you prioritize easy setup and minimal controls, it still serves its purpose well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Remote for Streaming
Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2024
I bought this remote for my Xbox One that we use for streaming. I’d much rather use this than the controller when just watching tv. Worked right out of the box and didn’t require any setup to connect to the Xbox. The remote also lights up when it’s picked up which is an awesome bonus.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works as expected, but room for improvement.
Reviewed in the United States on November 20, 2024
The remote is certainly nice to use instea of a controller, and it does work as you would think.
However I wasn't impressed that I had to apply the "Xbox" logo sticker button on the controller. The sticker is a rounded button that is difficult to handle without touching the sticky backing, and even harder to apply without it getting misaligned.
The remote is also VERY sensitive to vibrations and will light up when you touch or bump it and anything it is laying on. The remote lighting up with every vibration will eventually eat through your batteries, but if you're using the remote often enough, this probably won't be an issue.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic purchase

This was a terrific buy. It was such a pain to turn the controller on and off for the Xbox all the time since I actually use it dm for streaming now for playing games. It connected seamlessly and now turns the tv on and off and controls for the volume too. Super easy to use. Just like a remote for your Xbox. Love!

1.0 out of 5 stars After 5 months, changing new batteries repeatedly, it doesn't work.
Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2024
I've had to change the batteries on this remote more times in 5 months than I've had to change any other batteries I've had in my lifetime and I grew up in the 90s. This remote has been intermittently failed here and there and I have tried changing the batteries with brand new ones and I almost have to be right next to the Xbox in order for the remote to even work a little. 5 months is not a solid turnaround time to buy a new remote and every 2 weeks to buy batteries for said remote is just a complete waste of money. You're better off just sticking to a controller or buying the actual Xbox version.
