Just for qualifications sake I've been gaming for 20 years. My first game "console" was a joycon PnP that plugged into the red, yellow, and white auxiliary connections in the front or back of a tv. Gaming headsets weren't really a thing for me until the xbox 360 came out and even then, mine were mainly used for comms and not game audio. With all that being said, I definitely think SADES is onto something with this headset and like with everything else, there's room for improvement. I'll start with the pros and then move onto the cons and lastly i'll talk about whether I'd recommend thing product, especially as a die hard gamer.
Pros:
-Crisp Clear Audio (both comms and game)
-Nice retractable mice that delivers (based on my friends responses) clear voice audio
-Clean look with the blue stainless steel frame but still maintains suitable lightweight
-3.5mm jack pretty much plugs into whatever device you use, unless you have any of the more recent apple mobile products.
-Comes with a second set of ear cups (faux leather) while the preinstalled one's are fabric with foam padding
-Flexible headband that allows for comfort-ability and minimal fatigue
For $40, they did a pretty good job with these, but there are some flaws that would make the next generation a lot better!
Cons:
-Mic stem or arm is really flimsy in that you can bend it, but it's not likely to stay in position for very long
-While the headset is lightweight, I tend to like my headsets to have a more snug fit to them, but this is just personal preference and doesn't take away from the functionality or performance of the headset
- In-line volume control wheel is a bit sensitive so I had some issues with the wheel dragging along my chest and the volume changing unexpectedly. Could be a really easy fix with a simple cable-to-shirt clip like they use on small chest mics.
Everything I've mentioned could just be me nitpicking and may not bother you at all. None of the issues affects the performance of the headset and I'm really happy with how they sound and function.
Bottom-line: you'd be happy as well. If you're looking at these right now it's probably because you're trying to find a budget solution while maintaining decent quality. SADES does a great job when it comes to Quality Meets Affordability. At a price point of $40, you really can't go wrong!
