5.0 out of 5 stars Could be an excellent controller for the price, some caveats.

This controller has several things going for it, and maybe just a couple not. I like (and is the primary reason I made the purchase) the FOUR rear buttons. There are many controllers these days with rear buttons, the vast majority of them seemingly have two. Which would probably be amazing for someone that's never had them before, but all my controllers either have 4 or can install 4 total. I may not always use them all, but even if I'm just using two sometimes I like for them to be on the same side, I enjoy having that configuration flexibility. The rear buttons of this controller are in a slightly odd position for my hands, I wish they could have been closer to the bottom of the grips, but it's a minor adjustment. I do like that the buttons are placed vertically and not some other nonsensical configuration. I like that there is no rubber coating on the body, the grip texture on the back is actually a fine pattern of micro bumps molded into the plastic. Felt a little strange at first, but I find myself liking it a lot the more I use it. The face buttons feel good, the Hall triggers feel really good, the sticks (once I put some covers on them) feel good although I wish they had Hall sensors like the triggers. I have mixed feelings of the bumpers, they're positioned well and are easy enough to operate, but I don't like the click and how loud they are. Not a deal breaker to me, but I do wish the actuation was softer. I don't particularly care for the gyro function, but it was never my intent to use it anyway. I tested the gyro briefly, mostly by accident, one of the rear buttons is configured by default to activate the gyro. It mentions this in the instructions, but I guess I still wasn't really expecting it. Basically like all motions controls, it sort of "works," but is mostly a flaky and useless gimmick. I'd have preferred to lose the gyro and gain Hall sticks, but such is life. The D-pad feels good to me, probably about as good as the face buttons. I don't know how well it would do with a fighting game, I haven't really played those in decades, but for my purposes it works fine. I probably wouldn't use a controller like this for a fighting game anyway, I'd prefer something shaped more like a classic SEGA 6-button or a SNES pad.

The hardest part of operating this controller was actually finding a device that the configuration software would work with. I started with my phone, which has a MediaTek chipset. The KeyLinker software mentions at startup that it may not work correctly with MTK hardware. The app was able to detect the controller, but could not actually interface with it. Fortunately, I have other devices to test with, so YMMV. Took a few tries, but I did eventually wind up connecting it to a device that worked, a Galaxy S7. Once up and running, the configuration software worked great. My controller was already running the newest available firmware. The app has an advanced mode which gives more granular control over the various options, especially the deadzones. There are sections for key binding and macro management, although the controller itself is able to do some things like rebindings directly. After a few minutes of testing I'd had my sticks and triggers adjusted perfectly, was even able to set a custom sleep timer.

The controller comes with a detachable phone holder, it seems pretty sturdy to me, although my phone is quite small and very light anyway. There's a cover around the USB port that slides off to expose the attachment point for the phone holder.

I haven't had any connection issues. Aside from the mobile app quirks, but the connections were fine, my issue was finding a device the app worked correctly on. I have no Switch to test the Switch connection. I've been using it with an Xbox One, connected through a Brook Wingman XB by bluetooth. The wireless dongle it comes with also seems to work fine, to get that to work correctly with the Wingman it had to be in XInput mode. Switch Pro mode mostly worked, although the triggers were digital. DirectInput mode did not appear to be compatible with the Wingman.

For the price I paid, and considering the features they managed to stuff in, I think this is a really nice controller. Maybe not as nice as my collection of PowerA Fusions, or Xbox Elite, but it's half the price or less compared to some other devices. As is, I think the controller is a good value. If you have a device that can run the companion app correctly and are able to calibrate the controller, it's a VERY good value.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great feel, so easy to switch between modes

I was attracted to this controller for how it can be used over Bluetooth, WiFi, or directly with Nintendo Switch. I wanted a full size controller for games like Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which would work well wirelessly.

The various connection modes were very simple and intuitive. Even the Nintendo Switch just required holding down the NS button until it flashed and it was detected by the system, no problem. I also tried the Bluetooth connection to my phone which detected as an Xbox Controller and was compatible with Roblox without any further setup. I was very happy that setup was so easy. And after the initial setup, pushing the appropriate button connected it right away.

Comparing to my Xbox controller, it's similarly sized and even has the same textured grips. The Xbox controller is a bit heavier, but this one still feels solid, not cheaply made at all. The attachment for my phone slides in over the charging port after removing the extra plastic piece while not blocking the USB Type C port. The angle of the phone can be adjusted and it fit my Note 10+ just fine, even with its case still on. The holder feels very stable, so I don't feel like my phone will fall out.

All the buttons and control sticks have a good, firm feel. While playing games, it seemed very responsive. Playing games like Paintball on a phone is a huge disadvantage, but using this controller, even over Bluetooth definitely made it a better experience.

If I were to nitpick, I'd prefer there was a way to store the USB dongle inside the controller somewhere, but that's a pretty minor complaint. Other than that, I've been incredibly happy with this controller. I'm usually hesitant to rely on 3rd party controllers, compared to 1st party (I still have Gamecube Wavebird controllers that still work to this day), but I'm hopeful this controller will change my mind as it feels well enough built to last for years to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars Customer Service is just as great as this controller!

I don't write reviews often, but the customer support for this seller is absolutely on point, so I felt obligated to share my experience. This controller is packed with features and priced perfectly. I purchased mine in January of 2024, and used it daily without any issues for 6 months, at which point I noticed the phone holder start getting loose and the phone would kinda wobble back and forth a bit. The controller still functions perfectly, and the clip still works with the help of some rubber bands to add some tension, but I liked the controller so much that I reached out to the seller to see if I could purchase a new phone clip for it. The seller said they don't offer the phone clip separately, but mentioned that they would send one to me. it arrived today, and they actually sent a whole new controller to remedy the loose phone clip!

The 4x macro buttons on the back of this controller are fun to mess with, and there's an ability to remap just about anything you want. joystick sensitivity and turbo speed adjustments are among the customizability through the phone app, and it really is a beast of a controller.

Some suggestions for improvement: Allow changing the turbo frequency for each button (for example, slow left trigger and fast right trigger), Allow remap of the right and left trigger "buttons" (not the trigger themselves), allow remap of the "Home" button, and retain LED color after power off/on of the controller. These are likely hardware revisions, rather than software, but I'd definitely buy another upgraded version with these enhancements. This controller deserves 7 out of 5 stars and so does the seller!
