I am actually impressed with this stand. It was very easy to put together and install onto my PS5 Slim Disc. Despite the grey area advertising of the side rgb lights, the vertical stand is functional and stable. It's black on the inside/white on the side shells matches the look of the PS5. The cooling fan is quiet, even on high speed, and functions as an additional heat removal to the PS5's internal fan. The charging bays are crafted to work with 2 types of PS5 controllers. It does feel like I might break it when trying to pull the controller off, so I try to lift straight up gently.
The side rgb lights are soft and barely noticeable at angles, even though the advertising gives the impression that they are brighter and shine in a greater area. Really not an issue for me (I really don't want my room to have the 1995's "Batman Forever" neon dance club look).
The usb plugin gives you the option to plug into the back of the PS5 or into a wall adapter. Even though it takes up a usb port on the back of the PS5, it gives it back plus two more with the 3 port usb hub on the front. With this stand plugged into the PS5, those three usb ports can communicate with the PS5, making them more than just power/charging ports. I have usb dongles for my Victrix Pro BFG controller and Pulse 3D headset plugged in to the hub ports. I had set my PS5’s Rest mode with the option of keeping the usb ports always on. This keeps power to the stand at all times unless I power off the PS5 completely.
