I have two Xbox 360's and two children who each love to game. They in turn have friends who love to game. As such, I've gone through a LOT of controllers over the years.
Often these non-microsoft controllers have a very hard-plastic feel which makes your palms feel sweaty. Also some have buttons with way too little resistance, making the buttons feel light, cheap, and clacky.
These controllers are great. Their texture is amazing. It has just enough grip to it that the controls don't feel slippery in your hands. The buttons all have good resistance, especially the triggers (which is the one controllers most often get wrong).
I also love having wired controllers, because then I don't have to manage a million batteries for the kiddos when playing.
I'm very pleased with these!
