About this item

Slim and Portable: The tomtoc Armor-G12 Steam Deck Case is a snug fit to save space. Sleek and lightweight, this hard case is easy to carry and travel-friendly
Superior Device Safety: This hard shell is specially made from German Bayer polycarbonate material and has passed the Military-Standard-Drop-Test. It provides superior protection against impacts, shocks, and falls
Excellent Design: This protective hard case has raised areas to prevent pressure from being applied directly to the joysticks and buttons. Also, the raised areas have space for slim joystick grips. (This case is not compatible with the steam deck with other accessories, such as stands)
Convenient Charging Access: The full-covered protection effectively against dust and splashes from the case, while a precision-cut charging opening access design makes it convenient for your steam deck to charge while storing
More Friendly Details: The smoke black color case adds aesthetic to your steam deck. A durable lock buckle is included to store your Steam Deck safely, preventing accidental drops. (Steam Deck/ OLED is not included)

5.0 out of 5 stars A reassuring case!

This is an awesome case for your Steam Deck! It's sturdy, lightweight and fits like a glove. The latch is reassuringly strong. When your Steam Deck is locked in, you can be sure it is safe.

The only thing I would like to see is more rubber pads that create contact with the Steam Deck when it is stored in the case. I can count four in total, which worries me that the Steam Deck may move around when in storage, or if the case is dropped.

5.0 out of 5 stars Slim and solid

Provides a rock solid plastic shell with some tiny rubber panels to keep the deck from sliding. Solidly built with a loud “click” when snapped closed. This is form-fitting, so unclear on if thicker device skins or thumbstick extensions would fit.

You can charge via USB-C port access with the case closed, but the vents are covered, so I would never place a powered-on Steam Deck into the case as there would be no ventilation.

It is not easy to tell visually if the case closure is secured, so be careful picking up the device if you yourself did not recently clamp it down. The closure itself is hard enough to manipulate, that I would trust it in a small bag or backpack.

Not much shock resistance here, as there is no cushioning of note, so while it protects from scratches and pressure from other objects in your bag, I wouldn’t trust protection of the internals from high drops onto hard surfaces.

Overall, worth it if you want slim but solid protection while carrying the Steam Deck in your backpack or messenger bag.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best SteamDeck Accessory!

This is the best SteamDeck accessory I own. It allows you to quickly store your deck with full protection. It also allows you to charge it while your deck is in the case. We have cats and dogs and it offer full protection from pets stepping on it if you have it on your bed or table. It's also a perfect accessory for throwing your deck into a bag for traveling.

I can't recommend this case enough. It really was a game changer since it allows me to have my deck nearby without having to have a bulky zip case for getting in those quick gaming sessions whenever I get the time.

TomToc should make this case for all handheld. I would buy one for my Abernic devices or my Legion Go.

4.0 out of 5 stars Opening and closing it is the loudest sound you've ever heard

I picked this case over some others because I wanted to put my Steam Deck into my bag and never worry about it. On that front, it's exactly what I hoped for. The solid construction means the screen and buttons are always safe. I love it.

I'd read other reviewers mention how loud unlocking and locking the case was, thinking it wasn't that bad but I had no idea.

There is no quiet way to open or close it. I've tried. My wife thinks I've broken something every time I open or close it. She usually asks "are you okay?" only for me to reply "Yeah I was just getting out my Steam Deck." It's kinda insane.

But it does have a passthrough charging port, which I do make use of quite a bit. The case won't open well if you have a cable in though. The case can also do a fair bit of insulating. One time I shoved it straight into the case after playing a particularly Deck-intensive game and when I came back a bit later, the whole thing was still a bit warm. Since then I try to give Deck more time to cool before I put it up.

If you want maximum protection, it's hard to deny this case, but if you can't afford the noise it makes look at other options.

5.0 out of 5 stars As good as a plastic shell for your steam deck could be

I appreciate the thoughtful design that went into this product.

>There are pieces of silicone inside so your deck isn't rubbing against the plastic

>There is a little cutout in the front for your thumb to get some leverage when taking out the deck

>Space to comfortably use skull and co joystick grips

>Slim enough to fit in my tomtoc 11 inch sling

One thing of note is that the closing clasp is not like tomtoc's controller cases, it's a simple push down until is snaps into place.

If you're looking for a slim and protective way to throw your steam deck in a smaller backpack or sling then you can't go wrong with this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great case but may have an achilles heal (or 2).

I love this case and its the only one I use now. Its also the only SD case that will fit in my Fjallraven Ulvo L hip pack, including vs other slim tom-toc cases which I tried. It hs a couple flaws though:

1.) is they made the plastic SO close to the screen that in the center 2 square inches or so you can press it in and slightly tap the screen. So potentially a very hard direct hit from something right in the center could, possibly crack the screen. I don’t worry about it as I always have my battery pack blocking it anyway and it fits perfectly over the screen. Tomtoc could easily have raised it another 5mm and it wouldn’t compromise the slimness as the joystick covers protrude up like an entire inch anyway.

2.) Secondly the clasp folds in far enough when open that it touches the bottom 1/6 inch of screen, so if you were to quickly close it not realizing the clasp was pushed in you could possibly crack your screen that way.

Would love to see these issues addressed in a V.2.
Otherwise I love it, and despite these two minor flaws its the only case that fits my bag. I love the open charging port so I can charge it while in the case too.
