I actually use this in my off hand while drawing on my Android tablet. You can map it to undo, color swatch, change brush tip etc. It's honestly the perfect little device for that specific thing, trust me, I looked and looked EVERYWHERE for a decent little offhand remote for android, and there wasn't any. The only other device I found useful was a bluetooth number pad, which is a little difficult to hold on the back of the tablet, so this controller is a step above.
When I first got this I took it to my friend's house and was playing Symphony of the Night on my S22 and my friends 10 year old daughter literally ripped it from my hands and wouldn't give it back. I had to get her one for her birthday. She was obsessed with it. It's an awesome gift or stocking stuffer.
Honestly, if you're not going to invest in a standalone portable retro device, I think this mini keychain controller is actually the best option for a real legit portable "always on me" gaming device. If you use this as a keychain and keep it charged, and your phone has a kickstand, then you always have a gaming console with you without having to deal with on screen buttons. Even if you have a miyoo mini or something, you're probably not always going to carry it everywhere, but you will always have your phone on you, and your keys, so it's a truly dependable combo.
I actually recommend 8 bit do controllers in general, they are just great.

If you're using it for Anki, you will have to remap the keys so that it matches with Anki's buttons. I've set mine up with both my Windows PC and MacBook - for Windows, I use JoyToKey, and for MacBook I use Karabiner. There are videos on YouTube that show you how to set them up step-by-step.
The most annoying part about the remapping process, at least for me, was figuring out which buttons on the controller corresponded to which letter since you need to first insert this into the remapping program before you can assign it a different key/function. Luckily, there was a YouTube video that tells you but here is a list to make it even easier:

I've been using this for the past 8 months now, and couldn't be happier!
PROS:
- Easy to use, at least once you've set it up once.
- Small, fits in hand comfortably.
- I can stand and do Anki!
- Charges last forever!! I seriously think I've only charged it like 3 times in the past 8 months. I heard it takes a long time to actually fully charge, so I just leave it plugged in overnight and after that, I don't have to worry about it for literally months.
CONS:
- As mentioned, the remapping process was tedious, but overall not too difficult if you follow the step-by-step instructions on YouTube.
