Solid Charging Stand

Got this when I managed to snag a Portal when they came back in stock. This is a great stand that holds my Portal any time I'm not using it. I really like the color-changing LEDs that let you know of the current charge status and the soft silicone features.

The only downside (if any) that I can think of is that I sometimes have to pick the dock up so I can more carefully align it with the USB-C port on the Portal, but I think that's more an issue of the port location on the Portal, not a problem with the dock.

Overall, really happy with the quality at a reasonable price point.

Playstation Portal Good Dock

Does the job of charging the Portal. I turned off the ring because it sits on my night stand. My only complaint was the brightness of the charging indicator light. It's very bright. My fix for this was to remove the rubber piece above the light indicator and place a strip of black electrical tape. Then I put the rubber piece back over light indicator. It now shows the charging light as much dimmer and easy on the eyes. This would only affect people who have it on their night stand facing them. Overall great charging station.

Can’t turn off the light!

Works fine, looks ok. But you can’t turn off the light ring. I’ve changed mine to blue which isn’t too obnoxious.

Also, the USB C connector is a tight fit, so removing the Portal lifts the charger and you need to hold it down to get it to release.

Charging is great no issues. To get the connection you will need pick up the ps portal and charging station line them up and press little bit hard. The lights are the worse thing. Very bright no mater which color to choose. No way to turn off lights. Lights very big. If they had to a simple little dot would have been best. I have ps5, switch, Wii U, ps3, 3dsxl, iPad, 2 pcs, 2 tvs all in bedroom never had an issue with lights. This thing is so very annoying I had to remove from room, no way I would be able to sleep. Debating to return and just use a simple charging block and cable. The portal itself has no lights. Or to use a hand towel to cover it while not using, would keep dust off as well. Lost 2* just due to lighting very bad design, no idea what they were thinking.

This charging dock for the Playstation Portal is cool. The design is nice. The RGB is bright enough. The control of the lights are simple enough. The dock charges the Portal quick enough but not super fast. No complaints about the device except it would be nice for a longer USB cord. I think most will like this. I do.

An excellent display + charging solution for your latest PlayStation accessory. I like the simple LED lighting along the base, and the logo lights up to confirm connection/charge. The connection point on the USBC matches the curvature of the Portal rear, making for a nice touch.

One star removed for two reasons:
1. It’s a very lightweight piece of plastic, and so I recommend carefully docking your Portal onto it.

2. The power cord has to go OVER the base of the device, which looks a little messy when not hidden behind the Portal.

Good buy for the price!
