Bluetooth connection works fine. Connected to iPad as a "keyboard" allows you to assign as external switches in Accessibility Settings. Then, you can assign each button to perform functions on the iPad or create iOS recipes for students with physical access needs/orthopedic impairments. BOOM! Game changer!

2.0 out of 5 stars Software does not work. Bluetooth battery dies in 48 hours
Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2024
What should be a simple and easy to use device, is pretty terrible. The pointer to the software pointed to a site that was down. I searched, and found another source, but that software did not work on my Mac. After a lot of searching I did finally find some software that supported M1/M2 chips used in the new Macs, but that was just the beginning!
After finally getting the buttons programmed, I found that in bluetooth mode, the battery barely lasted 48 hours! The device has colored LED's that are always flashing (using up the battery), but providing no useful function that I was able to determine. Even when used in wired mode it's a little flaky and unreliable. If I reboot my machine it seems to take almost 5 minutes before the device will start working again.
Let me also say that I am an advanced user, so the fact that I spent over 2 hours trying to make it work says to me the the average "Joe" would not be making a wise decision to buy this device.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works as expected, battery dies after 3 days.

Adding back one star for the great customer support from the team here.

This is a good, simple-to-use product. The software that is used to set the the marcros, is pretty simple and can be used to quickly set up the keypad. The battery on this dies after 2 days. I thought this might have been a problem with that specific one so I exchanged for another one. I have the same problem with it dying after 2-3 days. That is 2-3 days on stand-by with light use.

4.0 out of 5 stars I wish it was heavier or have better grips so it didn't slide around on my desktop so much.

I've been having a lot of fun with this little keyboard. At first glance, having a keyboard with only three keys doesn't seem very useful. In the past, it might have been a cool way to press CTRL-ALT-DELETE. Fortunately, the downloadable customizing software gives you about a bazillion options for using the keyboard.

It connects by either plugging in a USB cable, or by a Bluetooth connection. I only tested the USB since my PC doesn't have Bluetooth built-in. The manual mentions a 2.4G connection mode by using a USB dongle. I didn't get one in the package, so I guess it is optional or available separately. Regardless, the USB cable connection works fine. And, I must say that I was impressed with the included USB cable. They could have just thrown in a 25-cent cable, but instead, I got a long-length, classy-looking cable wrapped in paracord. Very nice. The keys feel exactly the same quality as the ones on my expensive mechanical keyboard. They are the illuminated clicky type as well. I couldn't find any settings in the software that affect the lighting. It is just ON and that is it. It does flash to help when settings up Bluetooth, however. If it is possible to change the colors, etc., they haven't added that part to the configuration software, yet.

Speaking of the software, I really like it. It absolutely blows away the software that configures my full-size keyboard. That software is a buggy mess that has never worked right. The "FootSwitch" software isn't particularly fancy or anything, it's very utilitarian. However, the amount of options it gives you is staggering. You can make each key send a single letter, a word, or a sentence, send mouse button clicks, control media playback, and other system functions. The best may be the macro recorder. If what you need isn't covered by the other options, you can use the macro creator to "record" any key sequence you can type. When done, everything is saved to the keyboard itself. If you plug it into any other computer, the keys perform whatever you programmed them to do. The software is not needed for normal usage, as it is just recognized as a standard USB keyboard (one with only three keys, of course).

The mini-keyboard is very light. It's TOO light and too small if you ask me. It tended to slide around a lot, especially when using the USB cable for connection. Any time the cable is bumped, it pulls the keyboard with it. When plugged into the long side, sometimes the keyboard would even be lifted on its edge a bit by the weight of the cable. The manufacturer should consider adding some lead weights or something to give it a little ballast. Just having three keys is kind of limiting. Having a few more keys would drastically increase its usefulness for me. The small size was kind of a drawback for me as well. I tend to have a cluttered desktop, with pens, sticky notes, and other doodads all over the place. The keyboard is so teeny, it just tends to get lost in the clutter at times.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes moving files super fast for me.

I programed mine to just be copy/paste/permanently delete for file moving at my living room computer. I dont sit close enough to use the keyboard so this eliminated the need to reach over for CTRL whatever or using the right click and scrolling up and down. So much faster. Love this little thing. The programing took me a bit extra but my computer was to blame for not recognizing the device right away. Once it did the rest took minutes to finish. Quite a time saver.

1.0 out of 5 stars It's flakey, and too difficult to set up.
Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2024
It's battery is so wimpy that you should forget about running it without a cable connected. The programming process (though an app) is okay, but you have to put the hardware into a special mode before it will work. Doesn't really work for me.
