I did end up replacing the switches with hand-lubed Akko Speed Switches to make it even more responsive (not that it is necessary, especially with the stock GP2040 firmware with almost non-existent input lag. Highly recommended!

The keypad came in a rather simple brown kraft box, when unpacking it the first thing I noticed was how small it was - at about 8” long and 4” wide and little over a 1” tall (Base + keycaps) while weighing just a little over 10oz. The keypad is just a little larger than a standard console controller and considering is a perfect portable compact keypad.
The keypad is pretty well made/built, the keypad internal is sandwiched between several layers of acrylic sheet and held together with a few metal screws. It’s not as fancy looking as other more dedicated arcade sticks/pads but its size and key layout are perfect. I also like that the switches and keycaps are hot-swappable should you wish to customize the keypad further – a key puller and 1 replacement switch are included. The keypad also lights up with RGB light and there are a few light modes built in.
While the keypad is intended for playing fighting games like Tekken or Street Fighter after reviewing the simple manual included, I was intrigued to try using it on my laptop and play Android games through an Android emulator.
At first, I was a little perplexed on how to set it up, but after accessing the web configurator (holding START while plugging the keypad in the laptop, and opening the web browser with ‘192.168.7.1’ URL) and tinkering with the configuration I was able to unlock the keypad potential and configure it to my needs. I set it to keyboard mode and remapped the keys to work with my Android emulator and once done it worked perfectly. I was able to play my games on the emulator easily without using a mouse and keyboard.
Overall, I think it’s a great little versatile keypad/ arcade stick. I like that is configurable for other uses and the size is great for portability compared to a conventional arcade stick. It may feel a little pricey but considering what it is and the features it includes it is worth its cost.
